Excellent and informative tour of historical Jewish Lisbon by our guide, Diogo Soares. He enthusiastically showed us so many interesting Jewish sites of historical significance, and he is an absolute treasure of detailed facts about Portugal and its history, especially its Jewish history. He also negotiated heavy rains in the morning and took great care to make sure we were comfortable while learning so much. Five stars for our guide and this fantastic tour, certainly a highlight of my visit to Portugal!

This was one of our favorite tours in Lisbon. Daniel was so friendly but more than that, he had a tremendous knowledge of the Jewish history of Portugal and especially the Alfama District of Lisbon. We learned so much while having a wonderful time walking the old streets. I highly recommend taking this tour rather than just walking the streets yourself. Well worth the money. Thank you, Daniel, for giving us a very enjoy tour.

Daniel is extremely friendly, knowledgeable and helpful. He had a great depth of knowledge of the history of Portugal and especially the Jewish connections. He showed us so much that we’d never have seen without him. He was patient and kind and made everything so interesting. We had the most outstanding morning with him.
He then gave us more information about other places of interest and was eager to share any advice and suggestions to support our stay.
We highly recommend him as a tour guide in Lisbon.

Our private Jewish historical tour yesterday was fabulous and Diogo was a revelation! A former teacher, Diogo was able to bring alive the story of a community, the physical remnants of which are largely gone, with his knowledge of history, sociology, politics, science and literature. We highly recommend him and this tour!

We have had many private guides throughout Europe, but none better than Diogo. He was knowledgeable, engaging, and personable. He gave us great historical and contemporary information about Portugal and the sights, answering every question clearly and comprehensively. Plus, he is in incredibly nice guy. His tour company is responsive and well organized, from the time you contact them to the day of the tour. They are flexible about changing the tours to meet your needs and desires. We cannot recommend the experience highly enough.

This was an amazing tour. Our guide was incredibly knowledgeable and interesting. We learned so much not just about the Jewish history of Lisbon but about Lisbon generally. Our guide was on time and the van was clean and comfortable. He also took us to some sites and viewing points for context and an overview. He loves his city and his culture and we benefited from it. I highly recommend this tour.

So glad we took this tour and had Daniel as our guide. Did not know this part of Portuguese history.
Daniel was great! He made us feel at home and answered our questions. He cared for the subject matter and didn't skip anything.
