April 2024: We did an all-day (8+ hour) private tour of the Sintra region with Bruno, who was knowledgeable, friendly, responsive, and easygoing. After spending our first 2 days navigating dense crowds of other tourists all around Lisbon, via public transportation, going with Amazing Day 4U to do our day trip to Sintra proved to be one of the best decisions we made for this trip, our first visit to Portugal.
Bruno picked us up promptly at 8:30 a.m. at our hotel in Lisbon, and off we went to Sintra. The best thing about a private tour is going where you want to go, in the order you want it, at your own pace, and staying as long as you like for each destination. For us, it was worth spending a bit more for the Sintra experience. We trusted Bruno’s strategy and advice as to how to explore the most popular sites without spending too much time in long queues. Along the route, Bruno would fill us in with details on the architectural and historical aspects of where we were going next. In some cases, we stopped briefly to get out of the car to take pictures of some sights from a distance.
Bruno coordinated with us by text so we’d know where to meet up after each site, which was great! He thoughtfully brought us some local pastries, and recommended a great non-touristy place for lunch. He drove us to places around the region that we didn’t even think about from our guide book. Our original plan was to tour Sintra by bus, foot, and maybe taxi, which would have been exhausting, and which would have kept us from seeing so many things in one day. Getting around Sintra with a local professional was well worth it, and we heartily recommend Amazing Day 4U.

Bruno picked us up and dropped us off at our hotel in Lisbon in a clean, air conditioned vehicle. He was able to modify the tour according to our preferences. He was a great storyteller, we had an amazing time on this tour.

We had a lovely trip to Sintra and the coast. Bruno was an excellent guide who shared history and made the day both fun and memorable. Pasties were delicious!

Our guide was Carlos, and he explained us all the history of Sintra and Cascais. Has excellent knowledge of the history. He helps us with the tickets and do no had to do long lines. Was very nice and respectful. Also he drove with all precautions. I recommend the tour, we had an Amazing day! 😊

We had the best day with Bruno. He is such a great guide and a lovely man, he bought us local biscuits from Singtra to try which were amazing.
He was so flexible and informative we had a fantastic day would highly recommend this company they were amazing!

This day was a huge highlight of our trip! Not only were the palaces & scenery breathtaking but our guide Bruno was incredible. He grew up in Sintra making his knowledge of the history, people and geography excellent. He was very pleasant and easy to get along with, particularly for my 5year old who was jet lagged. He had a variety of car seats/boosters to choose from. He was amenable to our needs and adjusted to our energy or fatigue. He took us to an authentic local restaurant, and taught us about some of the local foods while listening to our likes/dislikes so he could make recommendations. At my request he played classic Portuguese music for us, it was magical while we drove along the coast.

Arrived in Sintra on train from Lisbon, highly recommend, went to the office of Amazing Day and arranged a full day private trip with Raphel, he was incredible, very good knowledge of history, worked easily with any requests, arranged a lunch in a very off the beaten path restaurant that was outstanding. We enjoyed the trip so much we arranged for the next day to take us to Setubal and it was the same amazing, on this trip he arranged a winery tour and tasting. His sevice to us was above and beyond our expectations. When we go back, we will certainly call on again for another local tour.
