Roberto was a fantastic guide, super friendly and informative. Definitely a highlight of our trip to the island, would recommend.

Loved this! Great way to see Funchal. Our guide Roberto was so helpful and ensured we were all included. Saw parts of Funchal we wouldn’t and tried lots of different food and drink. He took us to some really interesting places. Would highly recommend. Felt the price was good too.

A very nice tour, a very knowledgeable guide. It was not only about food or wine tastings (of which there also was plenty!) but chats about the island’s history, nature, way of life, architecture…saw much more about Funchal than by just walking sround or visiting museums. Recommended warmly.

Early this year we took the Food & Wine Walking Tour in Funchal. It was excellent! Roberto our guide was full of local knowledge, and of course the food & wine! As a foodie, this tour was the perfect introduction to the gastronomy of Madeira. I highly recommended you do this tour when you arrive. Obrigado and we will be back very soon for more!

We had a fabulous walking tour with Roberto. We tasted Madeira wine, Coral beer, wine, panchas, tropical fruit, marinaded pork and tuna white wine sauce. Good thing we got some steps in with all the food and drink we had. Roberto was very informative about the history of the city and local customs. Would highly recommend this tour.

Roberto was fun and very knowledgeable. He knew severable languages and cultures. Very witty. He personalized tour since we did one yesterday woth Sophia. We learned so much. Sawore.than we would have on our own.

Be prepared for quite a bit of walking but an amazing experience. Small group of 8 people of all nationalities. Couldn’t believe how much food we got to try. Every time we thought we had finished there was another stop. Our guide Roberto was brilliant so funny, knowledgeable about everything! And took time to chat with everyone. Couldn’t have asked for a better guide and experience. Our favourite day of the holiday. Seems expensive but worth every penny!

This excellent and tasty non strenuous, small group walking tour was wonderful. Our tour guide Roberto was both knowledgeable and entertaining. Roberto led us on a tasty tour with nine tasty stops! The tour is well thought out and very pleasurable.

Excellent tour led by Roberto, who was friendly and very knowledgeable. This tour is a great way to learn about Funchal and Madeira. There were frequent stops for food and drink so you never get bored or tired as there is always a new experience to enjoy. The food was very good quality and was an opportunity to try lots of Madeiran specialities and decide which ones to have again at a future meal. You also get to try Madeiran wines, beer and poncha. The visit to the market was a highlight.

Roberto was a great host, spoke perfect English and was very knowledgeable. The tour was great took in many sites and tastes of the area. His humour suited us and we felt comfortable and educated when with him.
We ended up pretty full having had a variety of fruits, chocolates, local dishes, Maderian wine and beer.
We try to do one of these food and wine based tours early in our break so as to get familiar with surroundings, city, customs and foods.
This tour certainly helped with that so thoroughly recommend.

The person could keep up for sure, but I can think of three places where it would be difficult to get in due to space issues, but also a high step up to get in not suitable for a wheelchair, step is not to code based on an American standard. The last stop for tea and pie was located on the second floor and I did not see an elevator.

The tour started at 10:30 and finished around 13:30. If you needed to leave slightly earlier, I’m sure it wouldn’t be a problem if you let the guide know beforehand.
