This was our third time of doing this trip. We just like wandering around this lovely town eating and drinking excellent produce and learning lots of different facts about Madeira and the Portuguese. Yes, even on a third trip we learnt so many new things. Our guide today, Renke, was really good. Very nice lady with a vast knowledge regarding the many different types of food and drink we tried and also the history of the buildings we passed on our route and the people involved with them. I cannot recommend this tour highly enough.

This is the worst food tour I've ever been on, and I've been on a lot of food tours. Overall, everything that we tried was either not great, or already on the list of things I came across in the small amount of research I did ahead of my trip. The guide was distracted and on her phone during much of the tour. If you wanted a coffee with your pastel de nata, you had to pay for it separately, despite it costing something trivial like 50 cents. The only value we got out of the time was getting to try a variety of local fruit, and the information to only buy fruit from the vendors in the middle of the main market, because many of the ones with fixed stalls with charge you 10x the price—but now you know that, too, so you can go ahead and skip the tour.

Great way to find your bearings in Funchal old town. Excellent quality of food at each stop. If your expecting lots of alcohol then this is not the trip for you, I think 3 alcoholic beverages where had. Easy walk, good information from our guide Anna-Paula who answered any questions.

Thoroughly enjoyed our tour with Leonore. Very relaxed, informative, lots of lovely things to eat and drink (don’t eat a thing before you go!). Also a great way to familiarise yourself with the old town area, glad we did this at the beginning of our holiday.

We did this tour on our first full day of our holiday in Madeira. All seven of us thought it was a great way to kick off our holiday and was a highlight of the week.
Our guide Anna was very nice and friendly. A great host.
Don’t book anywhere for dinner the evening after you do this. We were surprised at the amount of food we had.
This is a great way to see the old town of Funchal and learn a bit of the history of Madeira.

We loved this tour. Renke took us to 6 different places for the food and drink of Maderia and gave us some great insights into the history and culture of Maderia.
Renke was a great guide, really friendly and welcoming throughout. She even gave us some tips on places to go outside of the tour and how we could make the most out of our stay on the island, which I feel enriched our overall stay here.

We had originally signed up for the Marley LT and cooking tour, but is was cancelled and so we did this food and cultural tour instead. It was really outstanding. Our tour guide Ana was wonderful and we learned a great deal about the history and culture of Madeira. Come on a empty stomach, because they feed you very well - much more than mere samples, and you get to see some smaller places off the beaten path. We highly recommend this tour.

Great tourguide! Ana was very open, friendly and willing to answer all of your questions. The food we had was amazing, and all of the places we’ve been to had amazing hosts/ servers. Loved it! It’s an ideal and unique way to explore different kinds of food, go places where you’ve never neen before and learn a lot of things about the country. Thanks again for an amazing tour!✨

Hi, I strongly recommend you contact the tour directly because although this very enjoyable tour was largely accessible, there could be some challenging terrain unless a modified itinerary is available. I hope you enjoy the Old Town, which offers significantly flatter options

You have to check the website to see which you booked on. They will have replied to you to confirm your booking. They are either 10.30 or 2 I think

I wouldn't see this as a problem, but you contact Jaqueline in advance if you want to be sure.
Although the tour is on foot, we had about 6 or 7 stops and none of them was hurried, as the food, drinks and stories were the focus, so there was more talking, eating and drinking than walking.
She was also careful to tailor my tour to meet everyone's needs. For example, I went alcohol-free, so had local soft drinks and mocktails while the others had wines, etc.

Not really. It is a very small area with less than 5 minute walk between each stop. Far more time spent eating and drinks by than walking!
