Nice trip

Nice short trip, only 4 hours. Good viewpoints and trip to the valley. Would recommend to anyone who wants to see the nuns valley

I advise against this experience with factual arguments

I do not recommend this service. I will make a clear and concise summary of the service offered for 30€.
Bring and bring from point A to point B and again that is if you find the driver during the 5 minutes allotted otherwise no refund! Here it ends. No guide , no explanation , we are alone for the walk , no group .. and I invite you to speak English very well because the driver makes no effort so very important information like the meeting place for the return may be missing and you find yourself alone in the mountain . I advise you to take the bus , the service is the same for 6€ .

Pico Transfers

Hello, I will point the facts that you are missing to tell since your review is very misleading. The major fact and problem, is that you didn't read ANY of the information provided. If you read the title and description of the service, it is more than clear that we offer a TRANSFER SERVICE IN ENGLISH, and it is clear that you were looking for a GUIDED TOUR IN FRENCH. Then, we provide extensive information by email after booking, which was also clear by the questions you were asking, that you didn't read at all. Then, we again provide extensive information the day before the trip by WhatsApp, explaining absolutely in detail how the day goes, which again was clear that you didn't read. Then, the driver on arrival to Pico do Arieiro explains and shows everything you need to know, again, no interest or attention whatsoever. This is 4 times that you have missed our information. For obvious reasons, the trip would end wrong. The fact is that the hike beggins at one point, and ends at another point, but you've finished in the same point you begin since you've missed our clear information 4 times. Shortly before pick-up time, you inform this and demand a pick-up from the beginning point. When is more than clear that the trip is a shared transfer on a schedule for a specific route and the return is from the end point, not from where you decide to end. All the other customers in your trip were at the end with spare time and had a great trip. You didn't because of not reading any information provided. With all due respect, our service was excellent and professional as always. But any trip, tour, transfer, flight, bus, train, anything, will go wrong if you don't read the information of the provider. That was basically what happened. I strongly recommend you to simply read next time you book something, that's a basic thing to do. I will also point out: 1. yes, people need to be on time for pick-up at their hotel, that makes an excellent service where nobody waits unnecesary time for other people 2. our drivers makes a lot of effort to offer an excellent service, that's clear since we have more than 1800 reviews 5 stars across different channels, but speaking another language is not one of them, therefore, our only option to book is english, we have had french customers hundreds of times, which didn't spoke english, but translated all the information we provided and had an excellent trip 3. the 6 € bus you've mentioned doesn't pick you and drop you at your door, doesn't give any information at all, don't cancel for bad weather to protect customers, and also doesn't have a schedule that makes sense with the hike, you have to wait hours for it to return, and that is if you begin and end at the same point, not if you do the hike correctly one way, the quality is not at all what we offer, and it can't be compared

Great Experience with Amazing views!

Deffo recommend this hike to anyone, I personally struggle with heights but the views were breathtaking and honestly you can get over it very quickly.

Unfortunately the hike was partially closed to wildfires in the summer however they organized a second hike routing down the mountain and I honestly say I’m glad that was an option as trekking through the landscape was a great experience.

Communication between the guide and organizer were great and they made sure we knew all the necessary information!

Looking forward to returning and completing the hike in full.

Very good local guidance

The communication was really good. The main hiking route is closed due to the forest fires but Elisabeth offered an alternative where we still got to enjoy the amazing views at Pico de Areerio and then took a downhill path through the valley. We probably wouldn’t have known this without booking Pico Transfers. It was much easier than trying to park and then get back to the car at the end. Our driver was really friendly and we chatted about what it’s like living in Madeira. It’s really reccomend exploring the area this way.

Brilliant experience

Fantastic organisation by Elizabeth, clear and prompt communications. The fires have meant the original walk was not possible, but she explained another walk, that we agreed would be a great alternative. On the day Michael was out driver - couldn't have been more friendly and welcoming. Walk was truly stunning.
And Michael your Thai restaurant recommendation was perfect!
Highly recommend.

Great hike, great driver, point of contact customer service needs customer training

Radko the driver was excellent, he provided detailed information and instructions for both hikes. We enjoyed both parts of the hike and scenery.
A big negative factor was Elizabeth, the point of contact for the tour. Customer service is an important factor for a tour company, and having this person be the point of contact is a great concern.
When we were lost in the trail and needed some guidance, I messaged her and tried to call her and was not responsive only via WhatsApp.
As we were approaching the end, we were running late and we wanted to let her know. Her response indicated that we were over 40 minutes late and the driver had to leave to take the others. This was incorrect, we were only 15 minutes late, and Radko was there waiting for us and made us feel at ease.
Radko gets 5 stars, and the hike was 5 stars, and Elizabeth’s customer service 1 star.

Hi Joanne, This is Elisabeth. I'm sorry you felt that way, but I'm afraid I disagree with your story since it didn't happen exactly that way. So, here is my side of the story. When you've contacted during the hike I have responded immediately every time, not by call as it is better by message for the purpose of sending pictures and locations and having the information in writen, it's proven to be best than by talk, I have responded all your contacts by message immediately to help you. As you saw, I've send pictures of the maps guiding you, which is impossible by call. As you were approaching the pick-up time at the end, you have informed you were late, and I've asked for your live location to understand where you were, and you've instead send a picture, not clear enough, which led me to believe that you were 40 minutes away. I have kindly suggested you that it was better to take it slow and take a taxi as it is way to much to ask the other 5 customers to wait for 40 minutes, as the transfer is shared on schedule, and they have finished way before the scheduled time and might have other plans to reach. Your response was rude and demanding for everyone to wait no matter how far you were. And this behaviour was shown also by messages prior to the trip. Perhaps following the instructions provided would have avoided this situation. Since the hike is actually doable in 4 hours, and you had 5. Following instructions is a key factor when you sign up for a shared trip. Otherwise, it is best to book a private one. I agree that good customer service is important, and it is in fact my way of working, but I also believe that in 2024, respect and manners from the customer to the company are important. Scroll a few reviews down and you can see reviews with "We appreciated the caring of Elisabeth" and "Thank you Elisabeth for the excellent communication." Nothing more to add. Have a nice day!

Excellent service from Pico transfers

Our driver Radko picked us up on time, explained the hike and where he would be waiting for us. Very well organised and efficient company. Thank you Elisabeth for the excellent communication.
