Our last day so thought we'd book a tuk tuk for a couple of hours in the morning before leaving Funchal. Hotel suggested tuktuking and booked it for us that same morning.
We had 2 tuk tuks, one from tuktuking which my parents had and another from another company (subcontracted by tuktuking) which we had. Both were fab, we were taken to view points of Funchal, and around the new and old town. It was definitely worth it. A different way to see Funchal.

Absolutely fantastic and a brilliant way to get a glimpse of Funchal. Luís was amazing, very knowledgeable and took us to some excellent locations. Would say you absolutely have to do this in Madeira

We went on the tour with Luis where I booked online. the evening before the ship docked he had already contacted me via WhatsApp and said where he would be. at 9am he was there and it was great fun! he took us to see the sights and then dropped us off at the toboggan and picked us up.
Luis was a fountain of knowledge about Funchal and great fun.
the tuk tuk was a little tight for three of us but it made it!! I would use Luis again. great guy and a laugh in the tuk tuk. ( might need to get him a bigger engine for it)

Luìs was texting to let us know he was ready early. So we hopped on and he told a lot about the city. We took the extended tour to Santa Cruz and the Jezus statue.

Great fun and very informative.
Our guide Luis was very friendly and was able to answer all our questions.
We where so impressed after the city tour we booked him for a separate day to take us to the fishing village and Skywalk.
Definitely 5stars from us

My wife and I were in Funchal for the day to go on the cable car and the toboggan and as it was too hot to walk around, we got talking to Vitor and decided on a tour around Fuchal in his Tuk Tuk.
Vitor was a fantastic guide and took us all around the city and high above for some wonderful photo views, and we stopped at the old market to buy a few things.
We thoroughly enjoyed what was supposed to be an hour, but became 95 minutes and we can 100% recommend this for a great experience; support local businesses at this difficult time. Thank you again, Vitor...see you next year.

Decided to get the tuk tuk trip around the town because we were only there for a day on a cruise and did not think we would get to see everything any other way. We went on the special for an hour with Vitor. Both he and the trip were worth every penny. We saw so much of the old town and he took us to the places with the best views. He even doubled as a photographer for us. You know a lot about the history of the place and was very informative. All in all it was a fabulous tour and so glad that we decided to do it. Thank you Vitor.

If you arrive in Funchal via cruise liner and want the best way to see the local sights with a personal tour guide, I recommend you head for the promenade, find the tuk tuk rank and ask for Andraya. A local lady, she gave us a wonderful tour of the Madeira capital with lots of facts and stories. She made sure we felt comfortable and knew what to do to get the best out of each stop we made. She tailored our ride to suit our individual needs.
Tuk tuks can get to places buses and taxis can’t. You’re in the open air and cruising along at a sedately pace, so you can take in the sights. It’s not cheap, but this has to be best way to experience the locality, sounds and history of Funchal.

We did two tours with the TukTuk driver Fabio and we enjoyed every minute with him. You could learn about Funchal but even more important how to approach life - great tour and a even better driver, guide and now friend

The tour are on opening hours, 9h00 until 18h00. The tour is about 1h00 and we pick up at the port with your information 24h before the start time of your experience.
