We would highly recommend this tour. Joao was professional and informative and a pleasure to spend a morning with - we learned so much of the history of Porto as well as enjoying the food and wine of this area

Joao was a great tour guide and took us to several beautiful places. A trip to remember! Picked us up from our hotel and took us to several places in Douro valley incl. a gorgeous boat ride and wine tastings

We thoroughly enjoyed our food tour in Porto with João. He provided insight into the culture and development of the area, along with a wonderful sampling of a variety of food and drinks. He was friendly and knowledgable, and accommodated us with several stops along the tour for us to explore shops and sights we were interested in. I highly recommend Oporto & Douro Moments.

My wife and I did the food tour with Sara. She was excellent. Life long resident of the area who was able to provide great perspective on the food, culture and ongoing development of the city. As we had not had a chance yet to explore the city, Sara adapted the tour on the fly to show us some of the historical sites and make recommendations on what to come back to see. Bring your walking shoes.

My husband and I booked a wine tour with Rui during our stay in Douro. We were staying outside of the two main towns, so we had to book a private tour.
We visited two wineries, had lunch and visited the town of Pinhao.
Rui was such a great tour guide, very knowledgeable and a great conversationalist!
We thoroughly enjoyed our day. I would recommend if you do not have a car and you want to explore the area and taste some wine!

Sara customized our tour to allow for half walking and half driving. It has not rained much in Porto but we happened to hit it on a day it did not stop drizzling. Nevertheless, Sara took us through the streets of Porto regaling us with stories and history. Everywhere we stopped we were greeted with a smile and something to eat and drink. From the market and green wine with sardines (canned this time of year), to the francesinha (little french woman) we covered the highlights of the city.
Sara keeps everything light and entertaining. The time passed all too quickly but it was delightful.

Sara met us at the designated spot the Porto Train Station and proceeded to explain the history of the station and the tiles adorning it. We then began our walk around Porto by stopping into a restaurant for lunch, a traditional pork sandwich for my friend and a salad for me as I am not a meat eater and of course a local beer. After which Sara began introducing us to more local foods including cheese, bread, wine, port, coffee, Pasteis de nata (dessert) and last but not least an olive oil tasting with an Olive Oil sommelier.
Our tour which began at 2:30 was scheduled to last 3 hours. Before we knew it, it was after 7 when Sara dropped us back at the train station.
Dinner that night was a mix of leftover treats which we happily enjoyed at our hotel with another glass of wine.
A perfect way to learn about Porto and Portugal is to experience a Food tour with Sara.
Our tour which began at 2:30 was scheduled to last 3 hours. Before we knew it, it was after 7 when Sara dropped us back at the train station.
Dinner that night was a mix of leftover treats which we happily enjoyed at our hotel with another glass of wine.
