Stavros Striligas was our tour guide for the whole day trip and he was incredible! Extremely knowledgeable of the history, the area, and ensured we saw the main tourist attractions while also accommodating any one-off requests we had. I would go back and do this same tour any day traveling to Athens. One of the best days of vacation by far!

During our day with Stavros, he was was an educator, an entertainer and a fellow food afficianado! Before we actually stepped foot at any of the historic sites, he gave us a mini history lesson complete with amusing anecdotes. We felt that we were totally prepared to appreciate the historic sites especially the Acropolis with the famed Parthenon.
For lunch he led us to a restaurant off the beaten path that served THE most outstanding lamb entree.
Through the entire day, we learned, laughed and enjoyed!

If you like history and want to learn about ancient Greece, book this tour. Stavros is extremely knowledgeable and very enjoyable as we spent the day seeing the highlights of Athens. It was a great start to our vacation in Greece!

Stavros was an absolutely spectacular guide. We left promptly at our meeting time from a preselected location just away from our Airbnb. We also left early to see the Acropolis/Parthenon in order to avoid the crowds. This was excellent as Stavros gave us a 45 minute historical overview of Athens as well as an in-depth intro to the Parthenon and it’s history/meaning/design. He was absolutely spectacular and extremely well versed in his history of the area. He showed us around downtown Athens as well as the temple of Zeus. This was more a driving tour with rolling commentary, but the commentary was so excellent that there was no need for someone to walk with us to see the sights. Stavros preped is well and then gave us time to see things. We did not hit any mueseums as we had already planned a tour of the acropolis museum for another day. All in all the tour was excellent, we had great Greek food, saw a lot and learned a lot. Great time with Stavros. Couldn’t possibly say better things. Maybe top 2 tours I’ve had in the past year traveling Europe?

We had a fantastic time walking around Athens with Danae. She was so sweet and passionate about the history of the neighborhoods. I gained a much better understanding of Athens history and the efforts to redevelop older houses, as well as the communities who built them. My aunt and I also love gardening and cooking and when we asked about the sour orange trees that grow along the streets she even surprised us with a jar of marmalade! Absolutely a highlight of our trip.

Our tour guide was extremely knowledgeable and had amazing facts and details for us. It should be noted that they do not go inside with you - but provide you with everything you need to know before you go in. Also - definitely go to his recommended lunch spot - it was the best food we had our entire trip. Would highly recommend to anyone who has a short amount of time in Athens and wants to see as much as possible.

Our spent the day with Stavros and he could not have been more of perfect fit for us.
Stavros began to tell us about the City of Athens. He spoke with enthusiasm and very passionate about the history. His wealth of knowledge on all aspects of Athens and its many amazing historical places is unmatched and show us some wonderful sites of massive historical importance. He showed us various landmarks and gave a 'guided tour' in perfect English of each area we passed on the way from and to where ever we were headed.
We discussed anything and everything from the Greek mythology, ancient philosophers to the modern political and economic situations in Greece, including Wonder Woman LOL.
We insisted to take him out to lunch and to take us where he would normally go to eat out with his family, where the locals go. PERFECT restaurant, very delicious food.
I would recommend Stavros to anyone traveling to Greece. He is a knowledgeable, well spoken, considerate and very thoughtful person, making sure that the kids are safe... and yes, keeping that car cool before we even get in the inside! My kids gained an Uncle!

Beginning bright and early in the morning, Stavros met us at our hotel and drove us to the Acropolis, arriving before the tour buses. This gave us an opportunity for a 45 minute visit without the crowds. It was wonderful. We spent the rest of the day visiting sights agreed upon by the three of us, including the Parliament Building, the Temple of Zeus, the old Olympic Stadium, the Plaka and so much more. Stavros was extremely well versed on the history of Athens, the great philosophers and the modern political and economic situation in Greece. He is a most engaging person. We loved spending time with him, seeing the sights and learning the history of this beautiful country!

2 Couples celebrating 25th wedding anniversary spent the day with Stravos exploring the city of Athens. Started the morning with the Parthenon, got there early to beat the crowds, having a private tour made it easier to navigate around the big tour groups. Next onto the Olympic stadium and changing of the guards. Stravos dropped us off for lunch and picked us back up exactly at the time that was agreed. We continued our tour and finished our day at the highest point overlooking the entire city. His knowledge of Greece and World affairs made him quite easy to talk with. Definitely worth the trip.

Hi, will your driver/guide be walking to the top of the Acropolis or inside any other site or museum with us?
I read on some other tours that the driver is not licensed to do so.
Also, if we would like to customize the trip a little to add some stops within Athens within the tour duration, is this possible?
