Great experience visiting the markets and eateries. Our guide Michael is a real expert on local cuisine and knows the stallholders and cafe staff well. The trip was very relaxed while taking in several speciality fish, meat and veg markets. We had many opportunities to sample local delicacies and made a couple of extended cafe stops, with several dishes to try. Michael paced the experience well and explained the seasonality of produce and local food traditions. Thoroughly enjoyable - thank you.

Our food tour was amazing!!! Mike was a very informative and attentive guide. The food was incredible. I really appreciated the information given about the sources of the food and their relation to the health of the body. The food was local and very well explained as to how it’s connected with Greek culture. I didn’t take a lot of pictures because I was trying to stay in the moment. Worth it!!

Because of low season there were only two of us on the tour, so we had a private tour. It was really enjoyable and easygoing, recommended!

Excellent tour of local Athens shops and markets tasting local produce, olives, oil, cheese, honey, and wine. The meal stops were delicious and it was great to learn about the local central market and how Greeks shop and eat. The guide was wonderful and so was the group.

Excellent walking food tour of Athens with Mike!!! Wide variety of foods to try: from spanakopita, cheeses, olives, olive oil, calamari, kalamaki. Ouzo and Greek coffee to drink. Learned how Greek coffee is different (and superior) to Turkish coffee!!!
Mike showed us some hidden local gems that showcased local honey, spices, and other treats!
Would definitely recommend for first time and repeat Athens travelers alike!!

Bring your appetite because you won’t walk away hungry! Wonderful tour for the tastebuds as we sampled all the best foods Greece & Athens are known for while getting a look at the how the locals shop. The market is worthy of the tour in its own right just to experience the riot of smells & sounds with someone who can help you decipher the local culture. Even our picky eaters came away with some new tastes & we had plenty of shopping to bring back our favorite flavors.

Incredible experience with Rachel and Mike. Both of them made us feel so welcomed to their city - and genuinely showed warmth that is rare to find nowadays.
Lots of stories, covering the streets of Athens, lots of awesome food and then some more stories about the food.

Can't say enough about this company who organized this tour. We missed our appointed time and they graciously asked another guide to accept us into his group at a later time that day (330-7pm). Michalis our guide was just wonderful. Informative, joyful, kind, and engaged with us all. He took us through the downtown market where we stopped for samples along the way and purchased items as needed. From there we continued our walking tour or surrounding areas enjoying all the tasty treats along the way. From quaint antique markets to authentic coffee shops. We visited Melira a lovely shop that featured local honey, olive oils and more, selling both body shop products and tasty treats. Accross the street is Miran a deli that gave us delicious offerings, they had a wide assortment of cheeses and meats plus more. Very busy city, lots of griffiti, some very attractive and some not so much, loud and noisy area which adds to the flair of the tour. Thank you Michalis for taking care of us so well and for helping us to make our way back to our hotel. Your hospitality and care was exceptional.

Mike is super nice and knowledgeable! He created a great atmosphere and brought us to some super nice places to eat and taste local food. You could notice that he put some thought into the course so there would be a good balance of small tastes, larger dishes, sweet and salty/sour, some nice drinks and great stories behind everything. My only regret is that I managed to take the tour one day before my flight back home so I couldn't use all of his recommendations.
I highly recommend this tour! One of the best experiences that I had during my short visit in Athens.

Hi! Myself and 4 others have this tour reserved in May while we are in port with our Cruise. The ship is docked in Athens from 7:00 am -6:00 pm. We pklan on getting off the ship early and touring the Acropolis and surrounding area, and then head over to where this tour begins at 12:30. First of all, is it relatively easy to get public transportation from the Acropolis to where the tour begins/ And also, how far is it from where the tour ends to the port? Hoping we have plenty of time to get back to ship so we are not rushed. TIA!!!

I am not sure. When we were there in October, proof of vaccination was required to enter a restaurant in Athens. Send an email to the vendor. They were extremely nice and would be glad to answer your questions.
