Ilias was very engaging and informative. Being local he of course knew local lifestyle and their relationship to food and the tour was made very enjoyable by his good humour and engaging interaction with the group.

Great time and delicious food! Ilias was the best. Highly recommend this tour. Not much walking and plenty of eating!! Liked the ouzo and Greek magic the best!!!

My husband and I joined a group tour but ended up being the only people joining the final tour! We had a wonderful time with our guide, Elefthiria.
Elefthiria was so friendly and easy to talk to. She gave us great insights into the Athenian way of life and history of different neighbourhoods we walked through. We had a very enjoyable evening together and would highly recommend both the tour and the guide!

We had an amazing time with our guide Iliad discovering the food scene in Athens!
The food and drinks were delicious, and Iliad did such a perfect job navigating to the local, family owned restaurants that are extremely popular with the locals. You will never be able to get these experiences on your own. The selection of food was perfect as well!
Ilias was the perfect guide, he was a lot of fun to talk to, made us feel comfortable, had so much knowledge about the city, Greece, its food, the people and the culture! He really made the trip special and unforgettable!
You can tell he enjoys hosting the tours and this makes all the difference. It’s like making a new friend in a foreign city. The rest of the small group (we were 4 people in total), who were from South Africa and the UK made for such a wonderful intercultural experience and we couldn’t have asked for a better group to be on this tour with!
Thanks a lot Ilias (and our tour mates), we will be back next time we’re in Athens!

Our tour guide Ilias was great! He gave us some historical background information of the areas we visited that was very helpful. The food selection was great and he was very attentive to the members of our group that had some food allergies. Highly recommend and definitely go on an empty stomach. There is a lot of food and recommend the alcoholic upgrade!

Ilias, our tour guide was knowledgeable, energetic and choose really great places with superb food. He was attentive to each one of us and made sure we all were having a great time. It was so much fun and we would definitely take this tour and with Ilias. This was our first night in Greece after our cruise and he certainly made it memorable!!

This was the most amazing time! I had the best host and we became good friends. The food was wonderful as well. The time spent was one of the highlights of my trip. I would absolutely recommend this tour and would do it again in a heartbeat!

Ilias was amazing -- again! This was our second year in a row in Athens, and we told him last year that we would be back in Athens in July 2024 with good friends, and that we would book him again. I visited the website to ask about his availability, and they responded within minutes to say he was available, so we booked our party of four immediately! Great customer service on the website, for sure.
Ilias is nice, fun, and a proud Greek man. You can tell that he loves his food (and his country), and that he cares about his guests. We were a group of four couples – two couples married 13 years, and the other two couples married 41 years -- so coincidental, and it made for a great group dynamic!
We walked to three locations, with Ilias filling us in along the way on Greek culture, daily life, the neighborhoods we were in, and answering all sorts of questions we had. We started with Greek coffee, and he brought the machine over to us to explain how it's made. Then we walked a short distance and had koulouri (similar to a Greek bagel), then stopped at our third location (just a couple of minutes away), where we had delicious spanakopita (my fave!). Then we moved onto more substantial food at several sit-down locations... meatballs, tzatziki, salad, stuffed grape leaves, sardines, fish, lamb, stuffed calamari, Ouzo (wow!!!), wine, olives, cheese, and so much more. We followed it up with dessert to die for, and we were happily stuffed!
If you want authentic Greek with an authentic Greek guide, book this tour! Thanks, Ilias, and perhaps we'll see you again next year!

Yes, but you can buy an enhanced drink package. We didn’t buy the upgrade that was offered. Our tour included a drink at one stop on the tour. We were satisfied with the one drink.

Yes, the tour includes alcohol and wine. We had ouzo at one stop and then wine red/white at another stop and the guide also got us some beer which was all included.
