This was a lot of fun for a couple! We learned so much about the process of weaving on a loom, and got plenty of practice as we worked on matching coasters! At the beginning everyone selects a pattern and their preferred colors, and at the end you’ll have a hand crafted item that you made to take with you to remember your vacation in Greece. Highly recommended!

This was one of the best workshops I've ever done while travelling. The instructor is excellent--extremely knowledgeable and personable. She teaches the art clearly, and helps you come out with a really wonderful souvenir. Her workshop also has an excellent display and video on the work that goes into preparing the wool and the looms, multiple different types of loom on display, and some truly impressive woven works of art on her walls.
I will do this one again when I come back to Athens. It was that good.

Chryssa (proprietor of the shop) is a wonderful instructor, gracious host, and clearly passionate about her craft. We had a great time learning about the process of making wool and then learning how to make (and making of course) our own loom piece. Highly recommend for anyone who wants to support local shops and perhaps learn something fun and new.

We thoroughly enjoyed our experience here! We learned a great deal about the history of Greek weaving and the process of creating wool and in such a short time! We then got right to learning the process ourselves. The owner/teacher is an amazing woman with a rich history of weaving. She was an excellent teacher and the coffee kept us fueled up to finish our projects. Bring extra spending money because her shop is filled with beautiful handmade items!

This is an amazing experience. We learned a lot about traditional weaving and made our own coaster. We loved every second of this class (adult and 11 year old). The owner and instructor is so passionate and generous

Highlight of my trip!! This activity is a must do and so much fun. Chryssa is an absolute sweet heart and made sure we all had a great time. My friends and I all got to make coasters to take back home and have a little memory of our trip here. Would recommend this place to anyone needing something to do in Athens. You definitely don’t need to be crafty to do it as Chryssa teaches you everything you need to know!

My wife and I attended this workshop while visiting Athens and had so much fun. Chryssa was very welcoming, accommodating and a great instructor, and was extremely patient when teaching us how to loom our own creations. It made for a great relaxing date night, and also educational!

I’ve been interested in traditional Greek weaving for a while and wanted to learn more, and this workshop exceeded my expectations! Even my partner, who doesn’t particularly care about textiles, really enjoyed himself. The film that was shown was beautifully shot and informative, and after watching it Chrysa walked us through an interesting display of the materials used in the steps of textile production. The workshop usually consists of the participants making something on a tapestry frame or belt loom to take home with them, but I already have a lot of experience with tapestry weaving and was more interested in learning about the traditional (and contemporary) processes of Greek weaving. When Chrysa realized that, she quickly adapted to what I wanted, and we had a fantastic time talking about weaving! Since we didn’t actually get around to making something to take home with use, Chrysa let us come back the next day to watch her work and also gave us two woven belts that she had made herself. Although we didn’t end up making anything, I have no doubt that Chrysa would be a fantastic teacher. As well, her weavings that are on display are very beautiful (and pretty cheap for what they are). Chrysa is incredibly kind, knowledgeable, and passionate, and I had so much fun with her! I would highly recommend this workshop to anyone who has even the slightest interest in textiles!
