Absolutely loved our kalitsounia workshop with Anna and Eleni. They walked us through making these delicious parcels, and shared some scrumptious treats with us (including Easter biscuits made by Anna’s mother). Really enjoyable way to spend a morning in Crete and learn about some traditional Cretan food. Can’t wait to try making kalitsounia when we get back.

The kalitsoyni workshop was wonderful. Anna and Eleni were charismatic teachers and hosts, letting us try our hand at every step of the process as we made delicious kalitsoyni in their beautiful outdoor patio.

We absolutely loved our time in this workshop. It was a trip highlight. Not just learning to cook delicious food, but laughing and chatting with Arna and her family. We would highly recommend this experience to anyone who wants a relaxed, authentic experience. Thank you for allowing us into your home

Myself and my partner joined Anna and Eleni for the Kalitsoyni workshop. Anna and Eleni were great teachers and extremely warm and welcoming. We felt right at home during the class. We made two different types of kalitsoyni and got the chance to try local cheese, wine and sweet treats. Once everything was ready we gathered round the table sharing stories and chatting. It was a very nice and wholesome experience. I would recommend these workshops to everyone! Thank you Eleni and Anna :)

My family and I did the Kalitsouni workshop and it was such a wonderful experience! It was definitely a highlight of our trip. Anna was so welcoming. She had drinks and snacks for us. She was patient and encouraging to the children and had them take part in every step of the cooking process. They really loved it and are wanting to cook more! It was really wonderful getting to know her and her family and learning about local Cretan cuisine. I highly recommend this experience!

While we are from Crete originally, we live abroad and never actually made any Kalitsounia.
So when we were visiting this summer the opportunity came up to do something with my 7 year old daughter and extended family.
We booked the kalitsouni workshop not only to learn how to make kalitsounia but as an experience for my extended family as well.
The experience was fantastic!
Anna and Eleni welcomed us at their picturesque backyard with refreshments and a few tradional Cretan sweets other nibbles.
We made introductions so that we could meet everyone at the workshop.
Eleni gave us an overview of what we were going to be doing and everything was very friendly and informal between all of us.
We we all involved in every part of the process, from rolling the pastry to getting the ingredients ready and making the kalitsounia.
And when they were done, omg, we tasted them and they were amazing! We even managed to take a few of them back home.
Overall it was an amazing experience and i would recommend it to everyone.
The hostesses were really friendly and knowledgeable, the kalitsounia were amazing and we all had an fantastic time learning something traditional from Crete.

We joined the kalitsoyni workshop with my sister our three kids. I was impressed by the welcoming with lots of food and drinks and the excellent quality ingredients bought and prepared for making kalitsouni. Anna and Eleni have a fun attitude and made the workshop feel fun and easy! I felt I can now make them at home.
The kids opened the dought and filled it the kalitsouni with different mixes of high quality ingredients.
I fully recommend the experience that let you in the secrets of the local Cretan cuisine.

This activity was part of a mutliday tour I was on and it was one of the highlights. It was a great way for our group to spend time together, learn more about Cretan food and culture, meet these wonderful women and have an overall good time.
Generally when traveling I try to do a cooking class and this one was really lovely. They did a great job adjusting the ingredients for a member of a group with dietary adjustments needed and I'm confident could make adjustments to other workshops of you asked ahead of time.
Another wonderful thing about the experience is getting out of the highly touristic city center. It is easily accessible by taxi and for people who like walking it is walkable. It is also a short walk (7 minutes) to the new and beautiful archaeological that is well worth a visit. It is very easy to combine these two activities in one day.
It was a lovely experience and one I recommend.

Eleni and Anna put on a fantastic class for me and my friends. The whole morning was really relaxed and fun, and gave us a wonderful insight into Cretan food culture. It was well organised and there were plenty of opportunities to get hands on with the cooking. We also got to try Greek coffee, raki and wine from Eleni’s family vineyard while we waited for the pastries to cook. Great authentic local experience. Highly recommend.

It was so interesting, Anna and Eleni were great hosts and very friendly. We enjoyed the hands on baking Kalitsouni and try out our master pieces at baking Greek delicacies.
