I want to start by saying we have booked trips with gate 1 entirely on the website and this time via a booking agent. Mary Ellen booked our trip to central Europe and she provided exceptional service by answering all our questions, guiding us through the entire booking process and found some discounts that I would not have otherwise found.
Now for the trip: Our tour guide (Katrina) went above and beyond to ensure our well being and comfort in addition to providing a wonderful experience in all of the cities and venues throughout the trip. We visited Budapest, Vienna, Bratislava, Prague, and Berlin. Every city had a local guide and provided a great wealth of historical information. While they were all very good, the one that stood out the most was Nora in Bratislava. She was very knowledgeable but also the most entertaining of all of the local guides. The only issue with the city by city tours is it is so much information in a short period of time its hard to retain so many facts.
The hotels were all top notch and provided safety and comfort as well as great buffet breakfast. I had but one minor issue with the last hotel we stayed at in Berlin. The Sheraton in Berlin was the first hotel that had no USB outlets in the room and it had free but not secure wifi.
Overall this trip was wonderful and our experience with Gate 1 has been all very positive.
