We visited Corfu on Sept 13, as a stop on our MSC cruise. We only had a short time in port, and thought a few hours at a beach would be nice as we had been on the go for 10 days. This excursion was perfect, a nice break for us. The Travelco rep met us (6) at the cruise port and the shuttle van arrived promptly. We were a group of 6 and were the only ones on this excursion so it was private for us. Our driver, Dora, was a hoot. She was friendly and funny and made the 20 minute drive to the beach a pleasure. We got to the beach, checked in the the beach clud and were promptly given our beach beds, umbrella's and an ice bucket with cold water. The beach was wonderful, dark sand (which was hot), but it was the water of the Ionian Sea that was the star. Crystal clear and a shade of blue that was breathtaking. Clearest water I have ever seen. We spent a few hours on the beach and in the water. There was waiter service on the beach and a restaurant at the siite we took advantage of for some great food and drinks. Dora was at the beach on time to get us back to our ship in pleny of time. This was a special day that we will always remember. Would recommend it to anyone.

Escale à Corfou avec Costa Deliziosa pour une 1/2 journée à la plage de GLYFANA. Très belle plage de sable .Site magnifique.Il y a tout pour la baignade.Accès à la plage avec une route sinueuse avec de belles vues.

We did this trip yesterday, and everything went perfectly.
Most important, Glyfada beach was amazing! Very clear water, clean soft sand, and a very gradual slope (about one meter deep for a nice distance out). Our beach lounges had a big umbrella and table, and we had excellent food and beverages served to us. Every kind of beach toy and ride was available to rent nearby. The toilets, showers, and changing rooms were fine. The beach was full of happy couples and families from many different countries, and the staff spoke perfect English. A great day at a great beach!

The pick-up at the port terminal building went smoothly. We waited in a charter bus for 25 mins for other guests to arrive. The drive was about 45 mins to the beach. The driver missed two turns and had to backtrack. When we arrived and he let us off, he indicated that our pick up time was 315 pm. Given that we were supposed to be back at the cruise ship for 330 pm, we all said "what?": The driver (whose English was limited) then said "ok ok 245 pm". We did not have a good feeling about his commitment to have us back to the ship by 330.
Upon walking down to the beach, there is not Travelco rep to indicate which block of beds were ours so we were confused for 5-10 mins until a rep from the beach asked "are you the travelco group?". Once we knew where we could sit, we started enjoying the gorgeous beach. However, still concerned about the trip back, I asked one of the beach reps if he had a contact for Travelco and I explained our situation. He left and said he would look into it. About 90 mins later at 1320, the rep returned and indicated that a bus would be sent for us at 1400. This was a much better pick-up time and i was thankful for the beach rep who chased this issue down for us. Frankly, I had thought he forgot about us.
So while the beach experience was very nice, the logistics need some work. If the price for a cruise-related excursion was not too much higher; i would opt for the security of an excursion booked with the cruise line.

Tutto si presenta bene con guida e depliant poi finisce un disastro.
Secondo voi un vero autista professionale di un isola accende il navigatore satellitare ?
Portati in un punto panoramico facendo il giro del globo. Seconda meta una spiaggia che per arrivarci ci abbiamo messo un'ora e mezza perdendoci letteralmente per le montagne...mi sono accorto io col mio gps che ci eravamo persi....
Dopo la spiaggia dovevamo andare in altre due destinazioni che però abbiamo dovuto rinunciare per il troppo tempo perso. .... ma non è finita....
Arriviamo in centro a Corfù e l'autista ci dice che avrebbe parcheggiato li e che noi potevamo fare un po di shopping ma dopo 10 minuti ci chiama che l'aveva fermato la polizia e che non era più lì ma in un altra parte della città a noi non nota. PANICO... per fortuna chiedendo con un po di inglese NOI siamo arrivati al punto dove la polizia gli aveva detto di andare e il nostro shopping è andato a farsi benedire....
Io direi una gita da INCUBO... EVITATE GENTE, EVITATE.

We appreciate your feedback and we would like to reply to your kind review with some explanation.
As you will recall, on arrival you were given a complimentary guide book in Italian, so you could get more information about the island during your tour. The driver you traveled with is a great professional and knows the island routes with great expertise. The navigator our staff use is a system we have for security reasons: he didn't have to search for your chosen destination, which was Paleokastritsa Bay, where you stayed for a few hours after being driven through the island's windy roads (we haven't got any others in Corfu)
Once you were dropped off near the Old Town the pickup point changed and we informed you about it immediately as we usually do, and you and your family were brought to the port safely and on time for boarding. Maybe if you had arrived earlier at the meeting time you would have had more time for shopping, sometimes cruise ship stops are too short to do everything one wants.

I walk with crutches and sometimes a wheelchair. Can I get to where to tour bus drops us off to the beach or is it very steep?

Our Ship arrives at 11am and departs at 7pm, so would a trip be possible from 12 midday to 3pm or 4pm ?
