Efi took us on a Jewish tour of Thessaloniki and was an excellent and extremely knowledgeable guide. We got to both see the sights and learn about the rich history of the Jews in Thessaloniki and their fate in the second world war as well as modern Jewry in Thessaloniki (including a trip through the market!). She was considerate about the weather and pace. We highly recommend Efi as a tour guided and this particular tour.

After reading some rave reviews of Efi, we were fortunate enough to book her directly for a day long tour of Thessaloniki and the Royal Tombs of Vergina with our two 16 year old granddaughters. We specifically contacted Efi after reading reviews about her expertise relating to the Jewish Heritage of Thessaloniki. We were not disappointed and came away with a great deal of knowledge about a part of history that is unfortunately little known by most people. As a native of this area, Efi was able to give us first hand insights about the history and culture of this region of Greece that is “off the beaten path” for most visitors to Greece. We concluded our day with a fascinating tour of the relatively recently discovered and opened Royal Tombs of Vergina, which is almost as amazing as the tomb of King Tut in Egypt. I went on a private guided Jewish Heritage Tour of Thessalonika today.
My private guide, Efi, was not only a wealth of knowledge, but she was able to show me a kaleidoscope of the long history of the Jews of Salonika.
She was very patient and inspirational as she explained the history of her people. (I could never have learned all
that she was able to share with me from a book.) As we visited each site and each monument, she .made the history of thdeJews of Thessalonika come alive.
I highly recommend Efi for her expertise
and for having madde my visit to Thessaloniks that much richer.

Vicky gave us an excellent tour of the relevant Jewish sites as well as some of the sites of general interest. She is very knowledgeable about the Jewish history of Thessaloniki and was able to place all of our surroundings in the context of the rich and (ultimately) tragic Jewish history of the area. It was also fascinating to hear her perspective on the state of past and present Jewish life as a native Christian from the area. This was a very worthwhile experience.

I would recommend Efi as a guide to the remarkable, tragic, and inspiring history of Jewish Thessaloniki. She is friendly, hugely informative, and obviously devoted to ensuring that her clients have a good experience. We visited both synagogues, the Jewish museum, and the holocaust memorial. I found the museum particularly impressive and moving. She is a mine of information not only about the subject of the tour but also about Thessaloniki in general. I endorse the other positive reviews here and recommend her tour to anyone who is visiting this fascinating city.

We were very happy to have done the Jewish history walking tour with Efi. Efi has enormous knowledge of Thessaloniki in general and also of the Jewish community. She guided us through two synagogues and the Jewish museum. She gave us an understanding of the community and its history without overwhelming us with every detail and fact. She was able to cater the tour to some specific timing requests we had and kept us and the tour on schedule. Because of our own constraints, we did not do the full 4 hours with Efi but I'd so like to know what else she would have shared with us if we could have. Efi also followed up with us later to check how we were getting on with our flights home as there were flight issues and offered to help us find last minute accommodations if needed. We would gladly do another tour with Efi.

My name is Mitch Albom I am the author of Tuesdays with Morrie. I hired Efi to help me prepare fro a new novel I am writing, set during World War II Greece and the Holocaust. As such, I needed someone with great knowledge of the Jewish experience during those years, and how Jews shaped Thessaloniki before, during and after.
Efi was the best move I made. She provided several days of incredible knowledge, tours, sightseeing and visits. She translated conversations with experts and even found books in libraries and bookstores that she used to provide deeper information.
Her incredible knowledge of the city is matched by her knowledge of history, and I was fasciated by the stories and details she uncovered for me.
On top of her expertise, which is unmatched, Efi is a wonderful, affable person whose company you will truly enjoy for however long you are with her. She has helped me tremendously, and I recommend her with the highest endorsement.

In July 2022 we had a wonderful guided tour with Efi. She led our group of 22 youth persons through Thessaloniki. She has much knowledge about the Jewish History of Thessaloniki. She is very kind and takes a lot of time to explain and tell the important things. When you want to know more about the amazing Jewis history, ask Efi! She is a wonderful person!

The guide, Efi, is extemely knowledgeable about Thessaloniki and Greece and the Jewish Community. She made it all come to life for my partner and me. She showed us existing stores and institutions, monuments, and where homes and institutions once stood. We learned a ton and also totally enjoyed ourselves. Efi walked us around the Jewish Museum of Thessaloniki which really helped it come to life for us.
We still had time to visit other nearby sites and pop into the open air food market. I have only one regret--that we did not invite Efi to have lunch with us afterwards. Maybe she would have accepted, maybe not--but I wish I had invited her.
Do not miss this trip! It seemed pricey to us at first, but no regrets!

Good morning,
We want to book the Jewish heritage tour of Thessaloniki in July with a group of young people.
Now I see that the maximum number of people is 15.
The group consists of 22 students and two leaders.
Is it possible that we do the tour as 1 group or should we split the group in two?

Just book the tour and if the system does not allow you to change the meeting point, then we'll arrange it to meet at your hotel, that is no problem. I cannot help you with the technoligical issues of the TripAdvisor forms.
