Fantastically knowledgeable and committed guide who was both trained historian and archaeologist. Gave a complete picture of how Gamla Stan in Stockholm evolved from the Middle Ages to the present. Way above expectations. Highly recommended.

Jag bokade ingen privat vandring, men eftersom jag var enda som ville gå, så blev det bara guiden och jag. Så det blev en privat vandring. Gick på en massa små gator i Gamla stan, som jag inte visste om fanns.

The tour guide did not show up. We waited 25 minutes at the designated spot. An hour later they called saying the tour guide had the wrong time and was an hour off. To be fair, they offered to re-book us for a free make-up tour, but we declined. They gave us a full refund.

Intressant och upplysande. Lagom omfattande och några djupdykningar i intressanta medeltidsfenomen. Ca 1 timme var precis lagom för oss och Jonathan var mycket kunnig inom sitt område. Många nya fakta och anektoter. Rekomenderas varmt

I do not recommend them and here's the reason. We arrived on a cruise ship that ended in Stockholm and had the day to tour, as flight left early evening. We booked a custom day tour with Time Travel that included a walking tour in the morning followed by a trip to an ancient Viking site on the way to the Airport. So this is 2 reviews in one.
Part 1: Walking tour. It began on a bad note, as the driver to meet us was 30 minutes late. He loaded the luggage into the van and said see you later. What the heck? We told him he was to drive us to meet the guide in Old Towne. So he calls his boss and finds out that yes, that was the plan, so we head off....but then did not know where he was going. He could not find the way to Old Towne. I don't know how many times we turned around. 45 mins later we get there. We saw the ship tour buses that left after we departed, had arrived to the square and unloaded. Unacceptable. So we lost an hour, pushing back our time line. The guide for the actual tour was terrific. He was able to turn our sour mood into a good one. Ask for Leopold. Made the history of the city come alive. He leads us back to the square to meet the driver for the afternoon tour.
Part 2: Viking Tour. Driver again not there. We wait a few minutes and call his cell. He's 40 mins away making a run for someone else to the airport. You've go to be kidding me. We take a walk, have something to eat and get back to the square with time to spare....but not driver. Now we're pretty ticked off. Call him again. Told he's on the way. Call the boss and get voice mail. We're now bushing 3pm and when he arrives, he acts as if nothing is wrong. He asks where did we want to go for the Viking Tour. We told him forget it, take us to the airport.
We loved the walking tour with Leopold and would rate him a 5. But given the poor organization and transportation and missing the Viking tour completely, I give them a 1, so blended, the company rates a 2.

Hello Im4rays.
My name is Angus Carlsson and I am the owner of Time Travel Tours/Sweden History Tours.
I will begin by seriously apologize to you for the bad service and arrangements that was delivered by my company and my staff. It was and is unacceptable.
Since your review I have conducted research into which staff was in charge and tried to figure out why this poor service occurred. This is what I have found:
The person that you are referring to as "the boss" is one of my managers. Now regarding part one. I have discussed the incident with the involved manager and staff member that where driving.
The simple truth is that we took in all to much bookings during that day and tried a multitasking effort in order to deliver all bookings. This was at the best over-ambitious, but in reality it was just stupid of us. We should have canceled another booking instead.
We are glad that you provided the feedback and we will take the following actions:
* Always hand out one tour for one guide to deliver. Never do any multitasking and trying to solve more tours than we have actual availability for.
We now know where the limits of our organization goes, we shall not walk over it again.

Our guide (Angus) provided an excellent tour. He met us at our hotel in Old Town. He was very knowledgeable and had great insights and information. The tour was a very good value.

How does one schedule the time of the tour? We are a group of 4 who would like to schedule a tour for May 11th at 3:00 PM. It is not clear to me from the order form how the start time for the tour is coordinated. Thanks.
