My 72yr old Mother and I booked with Scandi in 2018 for a tour but had to cancel at the last minute. We then re-booked with Scandi again in 2019 for our tour in December. Both times from the booking process, the payment process, all communication and the receiving of travel documents was exceptional from start to finish - can not fault this company at all. All our questions were answered promptly and nothing seemed too difficult for Scandi to organise. Our tour itself was amazing and extremely well organised, from transfers to tours, meeting points, all instructions were clear and everyone we interacted with was friendly and helpful. Our tour covered everything we wanted to do in Finland - we got to experience the Santa Claus Express Train, Santa Claus Village, Reindeer Farms, Husky rides, ride snow mobiles, stay in glass igloos and had some fantastic meals. We missed out on the Northern Lights, but that just means we have to go back! Both hotels arranged by Scandi were excellent and centrally located. Our day trip to Tallinn was excellent and there was no stress at all. Have been so very impressed by Scandi and the Winter Fairy Tale 6 day tour that I can not recommend it more highly.

This was an amazing trip. The hotel in St Petersburg was very nice and ideally located. The breakfast was fantastic and we even ended up having dinner at the hotel one night. Our guide was very knowledgeable and helpful - even helping us find local places to eat and recommending activities. However, it would have been better to have the Hermitage tour in the morning rather than the afternoon so we could have spent the rest of the day on our own in the Hermitage. Also, our tour ended in Tallinn, Estonia rather than back in Helsinki where we started and it was a pain to get back to Helsinki.

We enjoyed taking the cruise ship from Helsinki to St Petersburg and back for our one day tour of the city. With only the weekend available this was the perfect way to do it. The majority of the travel was overnight and we had the entire day to sight see. The ship was very comfortable with several dining options. Had I known there were several restaurants I might not have opted for the full buffet breakfasts and dinners on both ends of the trip but the food was very good anyways, just more than we needed as buffets often are. We had expedited transfers off the ship and went straight to the front of the customs line on the way into St. Petersburg, that was an unexpected benefit. I think it caught our tour guide by surprise too,as she was not expecting to see us so soon. But she was wonderful and just used the extra time to show us more of the city. I was also surprised that we had our own dedicated driver and tour guide, I thought we would be part of a group. She was excellent and although there was a set agenda she was willing to be flexible to whatever our interest were. St. Petersburg is a beautiful city and we just got an overview of all there was to see there but enjoyed it thoroughly. Would definitely recommend. I also think this tour was priced better than others I looked at that didn't include the tour guide so it pays to shop around. I would definitely recommend this tour if you have a short amount of time and would like to get a taste of what St. Petersburg is like. The tour company was very responsive to questions via email and all was very organized and went according to plan or better.

This was a very well-organised tour and we saw and did a lot in only 8 days. The transport was punctual and efficient; the accommodation was good, with a special mention for the beautiful hotel in Inari and the very comfortable and well-located one in Helsinki. Scandi Travel replied promptly to all our queries pre-tour, and responded very quickly when my friend left her bag in a taxi during the tour, sorting the matter out within minutes and getting her bag delivered back to us before our next connection.
The various safaris and trips were interesting. We particularly enjoyed the Sami lady and her reindeer in Inari, and the reindeer farm in Rovaniemi, although we could have well done without Santa’s Village, little more than a glorified shopping outlet. The husky sledding and snowmobiling were perhaps a little more hands-on than we expected from the descriptions.
We packed a lot into 8 days and covered a lot of ground. The last day in particular, returning from Inari to Helsinki, with 5 hours on a bus immediately followed by 12 hours on an overnight train, was pretty gruelling, and we were thankful to have the two extra days in Helsinki we had booked in order to recover. If there had been an option at an extra cost to fly back and spend an extra night in Inari, I would happily have taken it. Similarly, a late checkout on the day we took the overnight train to Helsinki would have been a welcome option to hanging about in the hotel lobby that evening.
Overall, however, a very good tour, very comprehensive, well planned and organised.
