My daughter, son and I went out for a private ride and had an amazing time! We had differing levels of experience (from none at all to avid rider) and our guide was able to make the ride fun for all of us. She took us through a valley (and a river!) and let us tolt and gallop. They had beautiful horses and it was a gorgeous few. I would highly recommend this!

This was a truly wonderful experience. I am an older beginner and my excellent instructor/guide geared the ride to my level perfectly. I was given practical instructions before the ride and even got to brush the horse down before saddling. The horse I was given was very gentle and responsive and the countryside through which we rode was beautiful! I got a chance to meet all the horses in the stable afterward and it was obvious from their friendly and trusting demeanours, not to mention healthy coats, that these animals are very well cared for and loved. Videos and pictures of me riding were provided. This will be a memory that I will always treasure.

O passeio perfeito para relaxar em meio as montanhas, lugar maravilhoso, cavalos dóceis e super bem tratados,a guia super atenciosa, simpática e profissional. O percurso é lindo e a vista das montanhas incrível. Definitivamente é o lugar mais lindo e aconchegante que visitei, me senti abraçada pelas montanhas. Mal posso esperar para voltar!!

Dårlig sikkerhet
Hyggelige folk, fine hester og vakker tur men... Det var innkludert filming i pris. Guide hadde festet kamera på hjelmen og filmet bare den første person hele veien.
Vi fikk neste ingen informasjon om sikkerhet men måtte signere at vi var der på egen ansvar og risiko. Det, synes jeg var dårlig mtp. at flere i gruppa red aldri. Har vært på rideturer i Norge og må si at det er stor forskjell.

I have never heard this from anyone who has done our tour before. We have VERY good security. We have very often had people that have never been on a horse before. They have complimented us for being good with first timers.....We are required by law to have people sign a release. Horses are not machines. It happens maybe 2 times every season that people fall off their horse. They have never had any lasting injuries....May God´s grace and good fortune be with you :)

Visited on June first and got the private ride on a lovely Icelandic horse. The guide was knowledgeable and very helpful. The pictures and video were an added bonus.I had a little trouble keeping my boots in the stirrups as they didn't fit well with the safety toe cages, but that wasn't their fault. The ride was a lot of fun, and I'd ride there again if I'm in their part of the country the next time I go to Iceland.

We booked the private horse ride tour before we left for Iceland. We were not disappointed at all. Anna was absolutely delightful as a guide and the horses were in great shape and really fun to ride. They do a nice job of pairing you to the right horse and giving you instructions and a little time to get used to the horse before the ride. I would go back again in a heartbeat!

Great experience and Arni’s & Mimmo’s horses are well taken care of and loved. You can tell how well trained they are with Anna, who was a wonderful tour guide. I really enjoyed the experience thank you!

I really wanted to experience the tolt, and had opportunities to ride all over Iceland during our month here. However, all the other operations I looked at appeared to be just trail rides, following other riders and horses in a line. I was definitely drawn to the idea of a private ride, and so chose Fosshestar.
I had a blast! Anna was my guide, and was so calm and confident in giving advice while I groomed, tackled and saddled my horse. I had ridden quite a bit as a young girl, but have never owned horses. Once she assessed my comfort level on a horse, we went as fast and as long as I wanted. I felt like a teen again, flying down the roads in the tolt or a gallop.
Afterwards we "cuddled" with the horses in the corral, before letting them out in the field. It is obvious that they are well cared for, and enjoy human interaction. I am so grateful to have had this fabulous experience!

Excellent way to explore this beautiful country! We took the tour with Fosshestar - 2 in our party had some riding experience, 1 had almost none at all, and the ride was very pleasant and tailored to our abilities. I'm sure it's suitable for novices as well as for experienced riders, though probably not together - better check in advance how to book for mixed groups. The landscape surrounding the farm is beautiful and the Icelandic horses are different from other breeds - smaller and with a slightly different gait. Altogether a very pleasant experience.
