We hired a superjeep day to Throsmork. We read it was an amazing place and we were really looking to discover it as well as enjoying the superjeep experience.
First of all, all the staff at Activity Iceland were super friendly and nice, and our 2 stars has nothing to do with them.
The trip was ok, but we didn't have any super jeep experience and we weren't able to see anything of the Thorsmork.
We assumed that a superjeep can go almost everywhere in Iceland. Specially if the trip is available during winter time. So we hired a superjeep excursion to the remote area of Thorsmork. We were suposed to cross glacier rivers and enter to a valley without roads.
Our surprised came when we got stuck just some meters out of the road. There was another company (superjeep) on the area, and they got stuck several times. So we had to wait for them to help geting out. After one hour of driving not even 1 km, the other car decided to turn around. And our guide decided that he doesn't want to be alone on the valley and also turn around.
Again, the guide was really nice, but we ended up paying for a superjeep activity in a remote area, but getting a typical south coast tour, that we could have done with a normal bus.
The guide took us to a nice beach nearby, yes, but apart from that, we only visit the two big waterfalls in the south, overcrowded of people.
We know that nature is nature, but one expect for a superjeep to be able to drive in severe conditions. And if not, better not to offer the activity during winter time.
Overall, nice day on the typical southern coast road, but no superjeep experience neither Thorsmork visit.

This tour was voted best day of our trip - even though it rained much of the day. We started our tour in Selfoss rather than Reykjavik and it turned out we were the only 5 people on the Jeep! While there were other people visiting some of the same sights we did, they did not look as happy as we were. That is because of Aron, our tour guide. He makes the short list of best tour guides we have experienced anywhere. The insights he provided, the sights he showed us, the luxury ride of the vehicle - all of these things contributed to the great experience. We have not one regret spending one whole day on this excursion. When you make your reservation, tell them you want to be on TEAM ARON.

We did the Thorsmork Super Jeep tour on June 17th 2022, and had a fantastic time! The day was well paced and we got to see a lot. Each stop that we made had something beautiful and fun to see. This was our first full day in Iceland and a great way to kick off our trip. Our guide was excellent! He made sure that we all got to see things that we were interested in. And also made sure we got through the river crossings on the final hike. I loved the feeling of really being out in nature. We got to climb on rocks, go on hikes, enter caves, cross streams, and more. What an excellent day! Highly recommend!

Our family had a phenomenal day trip with Bjarki touring the Valley of Thor. Bjarki was knowledgeable about the history and culture of Iceland and the areas visited. He carefully matched the activities to our interests and abilities. The beauty of the area is unmatched. It was such fun and we can not wait to return for another visit. Would highly recommend!

This was an amazing experience and worth every penny. Our guide Magnus was outstanding -- very knowledgable and friendly, and he clearly loves sharing his passion for Thorsmork with visitors! I never expected to get so close to a glacier on this trip, or to see so many stunning landscapes in a single area. The super jeep experience was also really cool. We would highly recommend this tour.

Magnus war ein außerordentlich netter, kommunikativer und erfahrener Tour-Guide. Seine Leidenschaft für die Region spürt man jederzeit. Die Tour ist absolut empfehlenswert. Das Tal von Thor bietet zahlreiche Naturwunder und alleine die Fahrt im Super-Jeep dorthin ist bereits ein Abenteuer.

Vorweg genommen: Wenn wir DAS nicht gemacht hätten, hätten wir es echt bereut.
Wir hatten zwei Tage in Reykjavik (+ An- und Abreise) und haben somit einen Großteil des Trips mit dieser Tour verbracht.
Es ging mit einem MÄCHTIGEN Fahrzeug los.
Mit nur vier Leuten war der extrem umgebaute Sprinter angenehm leer.
Die erste halbe Stunde ging es nur gerade aus. Der Fahrer erzählte viel, war gut zu verstehen und hatte einen angenehmen Redestil.
Spektakulär war das nicht - aber vielleicht sollte das ja noch kommen?
Der erste Stop war an einem Wasserfall. Während der Fahrer uns eine Route zeigte die wir zu Fuß gehen sollten baute er das Auto um und montierte die Luftschläuche für das Reifendrucksystem.
Der Wasserfall war schön. Der zweite "etwas versteckte, aber schaut mal selbst..." war absolut GENIAL!
Der Zugang zur versteckten Höhle wäre in anderen Ländern wohl gar nicht erst möglich gewesen - hier durfte man selbst ein bisschen Risiko eingehen ;-)
Nach diesem ersten Stop ging es dann abseits der Straßen weiter. Durch tiefen Schnee, inkl. Steckenbleiben, über Flüsse, durch Flüsse, über Steigungen und Gefälle. Unfassbar.
Zugegeben, wir haben das vorher für eine übertriebene Werbeaussage gehalten, dass es hier eine spannende Tour gibt... Aber genau das war es!
Es gab viel zu sehen, wir wurden an tollen Plätzen raus gelassen, hatten eine tolle Suppe in der "Volcano Hut" und die komplette Fahrt war tatsächlich auch noch spannend.
Das war wirklich JEDEN Euro wert!

We had a really great day with Magnus out in the Thorsmork Valley. I'd hoped to get to experience some proper off-roading and got more than expected driving through deep snow and rivers for most of the day! Would recommend to anyone. Thank you Magnus.

The trip was awesome with these guys and the Super Jeep (actually a Mercedes rig) was really cool and comfortable. Having really good WiFi while in the vehicle was a huge plus. Beautiful vistas, great driving by our guide, and he even stopped for our kids to make an unscheduled slide down a good hill. Even saw an arctic fox. The lamb stew at the back of the valley was a cool midpoint of the ride. Recommend this group and this trip highly!

We went on the Thorsmork SuperJeep tour with Magnus. It was so fun and exciting! Magnus is extremely knowledgeable about the area. He was a great guide and a safe driver. The SuperJeep is a super capable vehicle and Magnus knew all the fun trails. We had an amazing time. I highly recommend this trip. 😄😄😄
