Wir haben im Juli 2019 eine Tagestour durch Nordzypern gebucht. Franz holte uns gegen Aufpreis pünktlich von unserem Hotel in Larnaka ab. Von dort ging es nach Famagusta mit Besuch in der Konditorei Petek und der Geisterstadt. Anschließend ein kurzer Stopp bei den Ruinen von Salamis und weiter entlang der Küstenstraße bis zum Kloster St. Andreas. Von dort ging es die Nordküste entlang nach Kyrenia mit einem Zwischenstopp in einem lauschigen urigen Landgasthaus mit einem reichhaltigen leckeren Mittagessen. In Kyrenia zeigte Franz uns die alte Abtei in Bellapais und den Baum des Müßiggangs. Nach einem Spaziergang am Hafen von Kyrenia brachte uns Franz wieder zu unserem Hotel nach Larnaca. Wir haben einen interessanten, unterhaltsamen und spannenden Tag verbracht. Franz ist vielseitig interessiert und ein Kenner der komplizierten politischen Situation auf Zypern. Die hat er uns mit der altbekannten österreichischen Neutralität verständlich gemacht. Um Zypern besser kennenzulernen empfahl uns Franz das Buch: Bittere Limonen von Lawrence Durell. Ein wundervolles Buch und ein Muss für jeden Zypern-Interessierten! Auch auf den längeren Strecken im Auto wurde es mit Franz nie langweilig und manchmal wurden die Gespräche durchaus persönlich. Und was kann man Besseres sagen als: Wir sind eingestiegen als Fremde und ausgestiegen als Freunde. Kämen wir noch einmal nach Zypern, wir würden wieder eine Tour mit Franz buchen!

Franz picked us up at our hotel at 9 AM sharp and then spent the whole day with us. It was a wonderful day with lots of different sites to visit. The tourist sites in Northern Cyprus is not that commercial and informative so having Franz by our side explaining all the interesting details was very valuable. It was even more valuable riding between the sites with Franz discussing all the different aspects of Cyprus political and cultural history and how it is to live in Cyprus today. You never learn as much as from someone local and Franz really did a great job guiding us through the country.

We did the tour above and the "in a nut shell tour as well".
We did the "in a nut shell tour" and enjoyed it so much, we immediately booked another.
Our guide Houssem met us at our hotel both days as we were lucky enough to be the only clients both days.
We saw everything as advertised and more. Houssem was incredibly knowledgeable and friendly.
We learnt so much about the history and culture of Cyprus. We could have booked a taxi and possibly saved a little money but Houssem's knowledge and information was worth evey penny.
We saw details in the castles, mosques, monasteries, churches, roman ruins, etc that we never would have noticed let alone understood the significance of. We heard so many interesting things about Cyprus' fascinating history.
It really enhanced our holiday. Thanks Houssem we will see you again.

We booked this as a way to see as much as possible on the first day of our holidays and then we could plan what we wanted to explore in more detail. Franz was an excellent guide giving us lots of local and historical information that enabled us to make the best of our time in North Cyprus. The day was well planned with lots of stops and walks that made it seem relaxed even though such a lot was covered.

A friend and I had booked this tour for 5th July. We were collected from the hotel, since
we were the only two on the tour that day. It was a 13 hour tour, in the heat but worth every moment.
Our guide Houssan was amazing. He was so knowledgable,really friendy and a fantastic guide and a credit to Viato Tours.
He explained everything in such detail and with such clarity. I f he were to wirte a book I would read it. A very tiring but fabulous day.
