We think it was a wonderful day full of events! The Eagles Nest tour was interesting and insightful. The views amazing!! The Bavarian Salt Mine tour was awesome!! So cool to be down there and learn about it. The trip to King's Lake was beautiful too. We had a good amount of time to wonder around at our leisure and relax and take it all in. The guides, Johann and Walter were wonderful guides with lots of information and very friendly. It was a full day filled with great people, interesting events, and beautiful scenery. We give an A!!

Full day tour with amazing experience.
Eagle nest is in a beautiful place having spectacular view.
Our tour guid Leopold and bus driver were very friendly and trip was well organised and safe. Leopold was very informative throughout and we had fun along the trip.
We had lunch at a cafe called( Forstner ?) in a village in Germany, Berchtegadener. They serve nice food and staff are very polite and attentive.
Salt mine is another different enjoyable experience. It was interesting how salt is produced and to have a glimpse of team working underground. I thoroughly enjoyed this tour including sliding down from shoot and riding train when entering into the mine. The whole day was full of activities and it was important to stick to timing.
I did not have time to look around shop in Salt mine after the tour.
Königsee village is very beautiful with lake. Enough time to walk around the lake and shop souvenirs but not enough time to have a boat ride.
Otherwise, worth spending on this tour. I would recommend this.

It well Worth the money get to see some great places and you get to skip the queue of people it’s crazy . the kings lake is very good but don’t get the boat or you will be walking home

Fritz was great. It was very evident how much he cared about the topics of the region and was proud to give tours to visitors to Austria. If you only have a limited amount of time and want to see the Five Fingers, Hallstatt and some great areas between I highly recommend!

Would highly recommend this tour. All 3 parts of the tour (eagles nest, salt mines and Kings lake) are really interesting and so much fun. Our tour guide Leo was extremely knowledgable and went out of his way to make the day very memorable and enjoyable.

We really enjoyed this tour! The salt mine tour was well done and our favorite of the day. Getting in some history at the Eagle’s Nest and some lake time was also great. It went by quickly and was nice that each stop was close by so not a lot of sitting on the bus…more time enjoying Germany.

We had a wonderful time. Our guide, Gerhardt was wonderful and passed on history of the area and places of interest we passed. It is a great way to see 3 attractions in one day. The Eagle’s Nest was interesting and the scenery beautiful. The salt mines were fun but also very interesting to see. The last stop at Koenig See was beautiful and relaxing. Overall we had a great time. It is a small group tour so my family and one other. This allowed some flexibility to the schedule.

Tour takes you up the mountain on special buses, you walk through a tunnel, flat walking, to the house. By the time the guide explains things, you just have time to look around for awhile before coming back down. I was a bit concerned about the salt mine tour, being an asthmatic, worried about getting around in there, if you have problems walking would be a problem, once in the mines you have to slide down two slides or walk down a steep set of steps. I am a senior and surprised myself doing this. I did thoroughly enjoy this tour.

Yes, it is sort of a bus tour. You get on a bus and it takes you to Eagle's Nest and then to the Salt Mines. Both are great and well worth the price. Along the way the driver points out sites of interest and also tells you about the history of the region. Depending upon how many people are on the tour, (we had two buses full), they then take you to a small town for lunch and for shopping. (either before or after Eagle's Nest.

Some reviewers did not like the return to Berchtesgaden AFTER the visit to Konigsee Lake. They said they would have prefered to stay at the lake to take a boat tour. Do you have that option?

Hi there.
Short answer: no. There is no option to stay back and go out on a boat. I would have loved to do that. The lake is stunning! The tour guide explained only 100% electric boats are permitted on the lake and hence the minimum duration for a boat ride is 2 hours - which is too long as the bus has to return to Salzburg.
Extra info:
The tour company operates 2-3 different variations of the same tour.
The easiest way to explain - there are 3 tours - a/b/c.
I chose the option which combines all 3.
Others choose a + b or a + c for example.
As a result there is some back and forth which is unnecessary.
Personally, I wasn't too bothered by this. It adds approx. 30 max 45 minutes to the day.
The drive is pleasant and the scenery is aesthetically pleasing.
I sat back and enjoyed the views.
