My girlfriend and i had a wonderfull day with Michael. He was very calm and professional and seemed to have infinite facts about Austria and a true passion for hiking. He is also quite the photographer offering to take some pictures of me and my girlfriend (with our phone).

Breathtaking views

I did the 4-hour private alpine hike tour with Michael. The views on this hike were breathtaking. Michael was very knowledgeable about the area and took every step to make the experience comfortable and safe. He was even able to tailor the hike to my interests. I loved seeing the castle, and then because we finished early, Michael took me on another short hike for more amazing views. It's definitely a highlight of my time in Austria.

Excellent hike with a wonderful guide!

Our hiking trip with Michael was truly the highlight of our trip to Vienna! Michael was incredibly friendly and professional, and he went above and beyond to make a day hiking a great one. He chose the hike based on our timeline, and he chose perfectly! We really enjoyed exploring a castle and ruins that I'm sure we wouldn't have been able to find on our own. We highly recommend Michael as your hiking guide and hope to see him again on our next trip!

Durnstein castle, "Footsteps of Lionheart" hike

Absolutely amazing tour, the highlight of my vacation. Michael is a very professional guide, spoke good English (always a concern for American travelers), and he provided extra items for comfort. He loaned some waterproof rainproof pants to me, as we were hiking on a rainy day and he did not want my jeans to soak through. He explained the history of the area and discussed local customs and politics while we hiked. He walked ahead of me on the forest path and even kicked sticks out of my way, so that I would not trip! He even took many photographs with me posing by the castles, and later sent them to me. This was a very personalized trip, and he varied our itinerary because of the weather. The heavy rain would have made some parts of the rocky trail slippery, so we used the time to instead drive to visit a second castle. It was honestly like traveling with a friend instead of a hired tour guide.
