The guide and driver were not up to the usual standards I expect with a Viator booked tour company. The photos were promised in four days, but in fact, it took a week to receive the photos, and quite honestly the photos we took with our iPhone were superior to those taken by the "professional" photographer/tour guide. We did see the lights in spite of our guide and driver, so that part was great.

When it comes to the photos, our guides are not professional photographers, but they are trained to take photos of the Northern Lights, as the camera needs a specific set up. In the tour description that you can find in Viator, it is not mentioned that the guides are professional photographers.

We did not get to see the lights on our first chase, but we booked a second one 2 days afterwards with a 50% discount, which was the lucky one! Amazing, unique seeing :D Arctic Guide Service is the cheapest provider (by bus) that we found in Tromsø, also our guide was super nice and the bus comfy. He took professional pics of us and the lights and sent them to the group a few days later, having edited them nicely. My advice : if it's a cloudy night, it's not so much of a problem bc your guide knows where to go to escape the clouds, but they have no power on the solar activity (Kp index and so on), so book accordingly or you'll waste your money... and your enthusiasm !! Enjoy !!

horrible experience!!! we took hours to find the northern lights and we didnt took any photo because the guide took us a lot and then 3 months later i still dont have anything and they said they dont have any photo, we now dont have any picture after spending 800€ with them in two days excursion….they know and they havent dont anything to help…i dont recommend at all….they have ruined our holidays we took hours to find it a very tyring excursion and finally we saw the northern light the guide took us amazing photos and now i dont hace anything…horrible and really sad!!!!!!

We are sorry to read that you were disappointed with the experience.
As you said, you joined our chase two times. On the first night, the solar activity was low, but the group did see the Northern Lights and photos were taken and shared with all the participants including you. As per your confirmation by email, you received those photos.
Unfortunately on the second night, the weather forecast was incorrect, and we needed to drive further and spend a lot of time in the bus, checking different places but without success. It was very cloudy in all the region, and it was not possible to see the Northern Lights, that´s why the guide did not take more photos. The only photo taken by the guide, as mentioned in previous communications by e-mail and whatsapp, is the one taken when the group arrived back to Tromsø. This photo was shared with you afterwards.
We understand your dissappointment for not seing the Northern Lights on the second night, but this is a natural phenomenon very dependant on the weather, and the guide did his best to try to see them.

Es war eine super tolle Tour, auf der wir auch die Aurora sehen konnten. Unsere Reiseleiterin war super und hat uns während der Fahrt einige interessante Dinge erzählt. Der Fahrer hat uns zu schönen Orten gefahren, an denen wir die Lichter beobachten konnten. Ich würde immer wieder an der Tour teilnehmen.

Nice experience to do once in a lifetime, although the appearance of the lights are very random, We need to "chase" or wait them outside in freezing cold so be prepared!! We had hot chocolate and cookies to warm up. I am still waiting for the pictures taken by the guide!!, it's really difficult to capture them with a mobile phone.
I also think it's a bit overpriced for the overall service, almost 100€ for long bus ride at night.

What an amazing trip. The lights were out for hours and the guides made sure we took full advantage of the display we were lucky enough to witness. They were very enthusiastic and looked after us all. Thanks for everything Arctic guide service a once in a lifetime experience.

A great time spent watching the Northern Lights. An opening in the clouds was found and shortly after arrival at the viewing spot, the Northern Lights appeared.

The most epic experience at most reasonable prices. We picked a great night but the experience defied all expectations and was mind blowing. Norway Lights had Go rating for Tromso and the sky was clear. The friendly English speaking guides and drivers drove nearly 3 hours to a spot South of Tromso away from city lights and we stayed there for another 3 hours. The lights started slow and low. It was cold so we kept getting in and out of the warm bus. The guides were always outside and would let us know when the activity would pickup. They were also taking photos of us with the lights. Very friendly. After about 2 and 1/2 hours of waiting the guides said the activity was picking up and within a fraction of a second the entire sky lit up. It was mind blowing as we captured a green sky and the actually saw the lights dance live in the sky. Even the guides were surprised. I guess we just got lucky. I would go again with these people to see the lights.

Nous sommes allés à la chasse aux aurores boréales à 2 reprises. Avec les guides expérimentés nous en avons vu les 2 fois. Ils nous expliquent comment régler nos appareils photo. Ils prennent différentes photos des aurores et proposent même de nous photographier devant ce magnifique spectacle. Il ne fait pas chaud donc il faut bien se couvrir mais des boissons chaudes et cookies nous sont proposés. Allez y les yeux fermés.
