Stefano’s wine tour was exceptional. I’ve been on wine tours throughout France, Italy and Spain, and what distinguishes the best guides from others is passion and expertise. It’s not a glorified driver, someone who drops you off from winery to winery and has the winery do their own spiel. Stefano is everything you’d want from a guide: A wine professional (He has a PhD in biochemistry), a wine enthusiast (He tastes every wine with you to give you his own tasting notes), a wine expert (He shares all the history and context of wines), and, most uniquely, a wine INSIDER. Every place we went, he walked me around freely, showing off every part of the process at a small winery, large winery, and co-op winery in villages you wouldn’t know to visit if you didn’t have a guide.
I was the only one on the tour this day, as 2 others cancelled last minute, but Stefano still ran the tour. Other guides, or large companies, would not do this. I am so thankful for his hospitality as well: He prepared appetizer bites including an incredible mozzarella local to his neighborhood.
He even has a wine shop in town, where he invited me after to do more tasting with other visitors.
Don’t hesitate to work with Stefano if you’re serious about wine and learning more about what makes Salento wines unique.

This was just awesome. Stefano was a great and very knowledgeable host, the wines we tried were good and plenty, and the food was regional and delicious. Full recommendation!

We really had a great time with Stefano!
The whole time was super relaxed and we learned so much about wine production in the Salento region.
We visited 3 Cantine from the industrial to the artisinal and were treated to some really nice wine and food.
We are not really that educated about wine but nonetheless the whole experience was accessible for us with classic puglian hospitality.

The best thing we did in Salento - Stefano is smart and knowledgeable. This is a great tour. Watching local buyers was informative. I tied to upload a picture, but Trip Advisor would not allow sufficient picture quality.

This was a brilliant day out! Stefano was fantastic. He was really knowledgeable about wine making so we learnt a huge amount and also got to taste lots of lovely wine throughout the day. I can’t recommend this trip enough! A must do when down in Puglia.

Brilliant experience and excellent value!
Stefano greeted us early in the morning by the majestic arch of Porta Napoli, we were expecting a group of people and a minibus but were surprised that it would just be us (myself and partner) and stefano, our expert for the day.
Although initially apprehensive of this personal approach he soon began talking very enthusiastically and expertly on the region and the history of wine in the area. We soon arrived at the first vineyard that Stefano had chosen for us. A great tour around this, guided by him and then following on to another 2 winery’s with a brief lunch in the middle.
It was amazing and I cannot wait to experience some more wines from the region and wonderfully we can purchase these through stefano and his website.
The day went far better than we could have imagined and cannot express how much we would both recommend this tour!
Stefano, hopefully we will see you again and look forward to some more wine from you

Wonderful experience to do in Salento. Stefano has a great deal of experience and knowledge of local wines. The wineries visited were very interesting and the wines tasted were excellent. We drank tons of bottles and the vineyards were beautiful.

What a great day with Stefano! We visited three different locations in the north of Leece. Stefan told us everything about the history of wine, the different grapes in Auplia and the production of wine. The wine tasting was absolutely fantastic. I hope we can do this tour once again soon! Thanks Stefano for this tour full of passion.

Tour davvero molto bello, visita a 3 differenti cantine nella zona a nord di Lecce con tanti vini assaggiati ed un ottimo pranzo con prodotti tipici della tradizione. Impressionante il vigneto con le piante di più di 60 anni.
Stefano è un host cortese, disponibile e molto preparato. Ci ha assistito per tutta l'esperienza. Assolutamente da consigliare se si ha a disposizione una giornata da dedicare al buon vino.

This was a fantastic experience, and Stefano was the best host you could have. He was knowledgeable, generous and a lot of fun. We learnt so much about the wine making process and about the special unique wines in Salento which are delicious. You must go on this trip if you are visiting Salento! Thank you again Stefano!!!

He conducts in fluent English and it’s a small group tour driven in a 4-seater car. I don’t think you’ll find wine tours listed as prices per couple…
