Nous avons déjà été plusieurs fois visiter cette grotte car, nous habitons la région. Comme déjà lors de l'inauguration, l'ascenseur était en panne ! De plus, les casques audio ne sont absolument pas adaptés aux enfants car, trop grand et glissent de la tête. Dommage ...
Sinon, la visite est intéressante mais, vous ne pouvez prendre le temps de détailler car, le groupe suivant vous pousse, départ toutes les 1O mn

Merci pour ce retour, toutefois je ne suis pas certaine qu'il soit adapté à notre tour.
Vous avez visiblement suivi une visite à Lascaux mais pas suivi l'un de nos tours Ophorus.

Martin was an excellent knowledgeable, friendly, informative and helpful guide with a great sense of humor. We covered a lot of ground including the promised three sites but also a number of stops at minor sites for a quick explanation and photo opportunity. We had a wonderful time with the prehistory museum, Rouffingnac cave and Lascaux that were part of the main program of course. But really Martin, our most knowledgeable guide was very helpful.

We really appreciated Martin’s extensive, encyclopaedic knowledge about everything historical and wonderful witty asides to lighten things up. We thoroughly enjoyed his introduction to the Historical Museum which placed so many later features into context. During the Rouffignac train ride Martin worked hard to give us an excellent running interpretation of the French guide’s commentary into English for us. His time management of the day’s events was excellent and his off-the-cuff stops at other features of interest was a delight.

Great communication with the tour company. Our tour guide was friendly, organized, and very knowledgeable - and fluent in English. Highly recommend the all day tour in order to get an understanding of the area.

Mooi museum, de originele grotten met grotschilderingen zijn er nagemaakt en er is veel achtergrond informatie te vinden over het wetenschappelijk onderzoek naar deze schilderingen. Wat een beetje jammer is, is dat het erg druk is en dat iedereen een tablet krijgt en dus alleen nog maar op z'n tablet zit te staren. Die werken niet altijd en dat geeft zichtbaar wat irritatie.

We would have preferred to know that your experience was excellent.
We are a little bit surprised to read that your visit of the caves (Lascaux?) was not accompanied by a guide and only by a tablet. We can understand that it is frustrating to have technical challenges with an electronical device during a visit. This is well noted.
However, we are pleased to read that you appreciated the information given at the Museum.
We sincerely hope to have the opportunity to regain your confidence during a new experience.

Vous serez surpris en arrivant de voir un bâtiment digne d’une série américaine. Il faut faire fonctionner son imagination pour se projeter dans l’univers de la grotte, mais si on y parvient la visite est passionnante. Le personnel est également passionné et très agréable. Notre visite au flambeau a même largement débordé du temps initialement prévu.
Très sympa mais un peu long si on a des enfants en bas âge.
Mettre un gilet vous sera agréable si la visite dure un peu.

Tour is excellent. The history as well as viewing the replications of the caves and artwork is breathtaking. Please follow guides advice take no pictures until the end which has many opportunities.

This was a wonderful tour. Our guide, Maartin, was so knowledgeable and yet ready with a joke as well. We stopped at the troglodyte village at St Christophe, the prehistory museum in Les Eyzies, the cave at Rouffignac, and finally Lascaux IV. Maartin explained the history of St Christophe and led us through the museum, pointing out important artifacts along the way. Rouffignac requires a tram ride to see the cave paintings. Our ride was accompanied by a French guide, so Maartin translated for us. At Lascaux, we were handed off to a Lascaux guide who did a great job taking us through the cave.
This tour is a must when you visit the Dordogne area in France. It is pricey, but worth every penny.

I will be staying in Montignac next April. I note that this tour begins and ends in Sarlat. Is it practical to consider taking this tour in light of my distance from that town?

You will be closer to Lascaux in Montignac than in Sarlat. I suggest you contact the tour operator and ask if you can be picked up in Montignac?
It was a very good tour and went to very interesting places besides Lascaux.

The Cave at Lascaux IV is easily accessible. It is a replica of the original cave and access is by elevator. There are just a few steps. The "studio" at the end of the tour has many reproductions of the paintings and you can spend as much time as you wish there.
