A beautiful day with this kindly and fantastic guide João. Amazing nature and superb lunch! This tour fullfilled all our expectations! Highly recommended!

We had a wonderful time exploring all the nature and niche areas of the island with João! He was able to share so much insight, give us fun information on multiple “curiosities,” and show us beautiful, fairly isolated places we would never have found on our own. 10/10 would recommend this and all other tours with PureAzores.

What a fun day with João . This was my second time in Sao Miguel. In 2022 I also did a tour with him , and this tour was even better. If you want a unique experience this tour is for you. Since I had already been on some tours I thought this might be too similar to what I had done . But it was so different . João is not only a great driver and tour guide . He really loves his job and what he does . I 100% recommend a tour with this company and if you get João as a tour guide consider yourself lucky !

Katia was incredible! We had the best day touring these must-see stops on the island, like some beautiful waterfalls and vistas. The trip couldn't have been more convenient with a hotel pickup, and she was very kind and knowledgeable. The lunch spot also had vegan / dairy free options. Highly recommended for an enjoyable and unforgettable day!
Please note that there are some stops that require a little bit of walking, including one or two that require a little bit of balance to pass (although you can stay back for that and not miss much).

This tour was absolutely AMAZINGGG! This is the best experience we have ever had on a tour. The views and scenery were so stunning and beautiful, every turn we took there was something new to look at. We even got to stop for some pictures with the Happy Cows which was so special!
But even better than the views was our tour guide Joao!!! We have nothing but great things to say about Joao. He was so knowledgeable and informative about the nature of the island, the history and culture. He was so accommodating and understanding with any concerns that came up. And oh my, what an amazing photographer getting pictures of our entire group.
The lunch was also fantastic, the staff at the restaurant were so nice and the food was delicious traditional food. It was a great experience.
Thank you so so sooooooo much to Pure Azores and the biggest thank you to Joao for providing an unforgettable day!

Joao was awesome! From the moment he picked us up at 9am until drop off around 5pm he shared his knowledge and love for the beautiful Azores.
We knew it would be a good day when he picked us up, started driving and explaining the itinerary and asked if we had swimsuits in case we wanted to swim in some waterfalls. Our 15yo boys jumped at the opportunity so Joao returned to the hotel for a quick stop and off we went again, swimsuits in hand.
Our group was three generations ranging in age from 15 to 82 and he was able to accommodate a comfortable pace for us all along the way.
Our day was truly enjoyable, we learned a lot and loved the experiences we encountered - especially when Joao took us to the church we believe my husband's great-grandfather was baptized in.
Highly recommend the tour and Joao; we look forward to our return and more wonderful adventures with him!

The hidden gems tour with Pure Azores tours was the best tour we went on during our week in the Azores.
Joao was a fantastic guide, made us all feel welcome and was very engaging and knowledgable on the islands, history, flora and fauna.
We saw some wonderful things that we would likely not have found ourselves. Lunch was provided where traditional island food could be sampled alongside Green wine and other beverages.
Highly recommend to anyone.

An amazing guide and a really fun day! We were well taken care of and got to see some really beautiful (and not to crowded) places and left with a lot of ideas for places to visit and things to do.

Just to clarify, we went on all three tours that Sao Miguel Tours offered. Amazing. You have to at least do the East and West Tour then you will have experienced the whole island. The tour guide Marcello is fantastic. Such great value and a good lunch too. Also so much fun meeting people from different places on our tour. The views spectacular. The history and understanding of the culture so well done. The Hidden Gems can be for the heartier. Some hiking along the waterfalls. We had a very hot week 85-95 degrees. But views were incredible. Do not rent a car and do it yourself. Take the tours, so worth it and you will see everything. Until next time Azores!

This was such an amazing tour. Very different from the others. Mostly nature, waterfalls and botanical walks to views and sites. Joao was an amazing tour guide. Gave us plenty of time to enjoy the sites. He's very knowledgeable and funny. Hope to see him again on my next trip!

Can the tour be 4 to 5 hours? Our ship docks at 9am and we have to be back on board at 3 pm. we are 4 people .

I believe it was a full day tour as it took us quite far out and included a stop for lunch. So I think it would be difficult to squeeze it into a day. That being said, you can certainly ask if they could customize it to your needs. They were very easy to work with.

Do you pick up/drop off where cruise ship passengers will be? Will you get us back to the ship at least an hour before we depart? We will be on the Princess ship which arrives at 0900 and leaves at 1800.
