In the heart of 'Irpinia there is Selle delle Spine, a reality born as a winery that then founded the bistro selle spine.
After the welcome in the square by Luigi, a competent and passionate person, we continue with the visit to the cellar with a visit to the vineyards, barrels, with a detailed explanation of the various stages.
Luigi, managed to combine being an entrepreneur with a global vision of territorial marketing.
Immediately afterwards, we went to the bistro for a tasting: typical local products (a delicate cuisine able to combine with exceptional products for quality and taste ) combined with 3 wines from the cellar : Fiano di Avellino (eugenia), taurasini and tatlurasi fields 2018.
Perfect price of the day!
Finally , visit the castle of taurasi with an excellent explanation.

A fantastic Sunday.
Mr. Luigi Caggiano welcomed us and made us live a unique experience among his vineyards and his stories about each process for making his wines.
Finally we had a tasting of some of his wines, which are nothing short of sublime.
Impossible not to recommend this tasting route and the narration full of experience of Mr. Caggiano.
I invite you to participate to live in a unique experience that will remain in your heart.
Special thanks to him and his very kind daughter who accompanied us in this beautiful experience😊

High Tasting in Taurasi at the winery Sella delle Spine absolutely must try, we are welcomed by Luigi Caggiano Founder and Winemaker and in a very professional way explains all the various processes from the vineyard to the cellar to our tables, the tour that we recommend to everyone is called High Tasting bookable from the site or by phone and consists of:
Tour of the Vineyards.
Visit to the winery with tour of the grape processing and production processes and winemaking processes.
Tasting of 3 DOCG wines accompanied by local cuisine at @sellabistrot
Fiano di Avellino DOCG Eugenia with this we fell in love with white wines, paired with eggplant entreè, zucchini, olives, tarallucci, raw in oil with truffle and crumbled tarallucci and finally provola fondue with truffle.
Greco di Tufo DOCG Don Raffaele paired with eggplant parmesan.
Taurasi DOCG Vigna Piano d'Angelo in our subjective opinion the best paired with platter of Ham, salami and Irpinian cheeses.
At the end of the tasting you can choose whether to buy the various wine boxes.
We really appreciated the quality of the service offered by Mr. Luigi Caggiano and his daughter Eugenia, from the explanation of everything to the wines to the kitchen, we thank you and will return as soon as possible together with family and friends, I repeat absolutely to try.

We spent a long afternoon in the company of Mr. Luigi Caggiano and his family. Initially we were at the discovery of the winery "Sella delle Spine" guarantee of authenticity, study and passion. Then, we had the real tasting in the Caggiano family bistro: a magical place, very young but destined to grow and expand more and more thanks to Luigi’s projects. Thanks again for sharing cin us pieces of history and life!

Mr. Luigi studded with culture and experience this tasting. Sincerely impressed and pleasantly happy. I highly recommend it in order to discover and appreciate all the riches of this territory and especially the grapes from the bunch to the bottle!

After having already enjoyed and enjoyed, with the family, the visit to the cellar with subsequent tasting, I returned, as a couple to the Bistrot for lunch and, as the first time, everything was wonderful and impeccable. An experience definitely to recommend.... and to repeat!

It is now our place of heart:
We go to the saddle of thorns at least once a year.
To welcome us there is Luigi, a wonderful person, professional and of an infinite humanity that always puts us at ease.
His wife, Eugenia, Francesca and all the staff are superlatives, attentive to detail and customers.
The new bistro is a beautiful place, with attention to detail that offers à la carte menus as well as the opportunity to choose a tasting route with a visit to the vineyards and the cellar.
The dishes are a real pleasure and the wines in combination are really the top.
I'm great! Keep it up!

On the first Sunday of September I visited the winery and tasted their excellent wines.
We started with a guided tour of the old town of Taurasi, continued with the tasting of their wines (Fiano, Greek and Taurasi) accompanied by excellent and delicate dishes.
Dear and professional staff who accompanied us in the tasting path.
After the tasting Mr. Luigi accompanied us around his vineyards showing us and explaining with passion and care for every detail how the wine is produced.
Overall, a 'great experience that I would gladly repeat and Recommendation to fans of this kind of experiences.
