This was a great tour by a very knowledgable guide. We learned about the importance of Cobh in the the Irish war for independence from England (1919 to 1921). He was a great story teller and made history come to life.

My friend and I visited Cobh for a day during our weeklong trip to Ireland, and we booked spots on this tour because we both enjoy history and wanted to gain a brief overview of the city's history. This tour gave us so much more than a brief overview. Kieran was incredibly knowledgeable and an engaging storyteller. We learned all about Cobh's place in history and connections to the famine, the Easter Rising, the War of Independence, and the civil war during the 2 hours (which flew by, and we both felt we could have listened to more!) through Kieran's captivating stories about the people and landmarks in the city. If your time in Cobh is limited and you're trying to decide what to prioritize, I can't recommend this tour enough.

We had a wonderful evening tour with Kieran. His knowledge of the Irish revolution is extensive and he is able to bring it to life by sharing stories on how the revolution unfolded on the streets of Cobh. For a small Irish town it is amazing to learn about its significance not only in Irish history, but also World events. If you are a history buff and want to see the town of Cobh, this is the tour for you!

One of the best tours I've ever been on. The guide was fascinating and truly dedicated to local history. I've been in Ireland for two years now and he gave me such a wonderful context for the history of Ireland, the revolution, the enduring troubles, the famine, and modern day politics. He ties it all together- Not to be missed!

We were visiting Cobh as part of a 12 night cruise and had seen reviews of this tour beforehand. Despite there only being 2 of us we effectively had a private tour with Keiran who is a local guy with a real passion and knowledge of the history of the place. We learnt a significant amount over the 2 hours at a fraction of the price of the ships tours. We would highly recommend and if you get the opportunity whilst visiting Cobh don't miss Keiran's tour.

Linda and I (Barry) spent 2.5 hours with Kieran and had a most instructive and enjoyable afternoon.
History told from the perspective of an Irish Rebel can be a little hard on English/Welsh ears, but Kieran has the charisma and charm necessary to pull it off.
Some great discussion and debate, we occasionally agreed to disagree.
If you are interested in history, this is a must do. Kieran is very knowledgeable and extremely passionate about his subject

I was lucky enough to have Kieran give me an impromptu private tour when I turned up on the wrong date and called him when nobody showed up (doh). Very grateful he took the time. I’m half English, half Irish, but raised and educated in U.K. I never learned Irish history at school and have only lived the English perspective. I went on the tour with some trepidation as a Brit (my family joked that I should keep my mouth shut so my accent didn’t give me away, a plan that quickly evaporated when I got the private tour) but absolutely loved it. It broadened my perspective on Irish - English history from the potato famine on, and helped me understand the rebel point of view. Kieran is a font of information. He paints the landscape over time and also provides detailed descriptions of events that bring the Irish - English conflict into sharp relief. I recommend the tour, especially if - like me - you want to move beyond your bubble. It was fascinating. Thanks, Kieran!
