Unacceptable business ethics

My family booked a tour in January for a September tour. It was reserved at that time. In August we paid for the tour and it was confirmed. Then 2 weeks before our tour was to take place it was canceled with no explanation. We tried to book another tour with same company only to have the exact same outcome...reserved, paid for, confirmed, canceled. Since we were just two weeks out, options for tours are few to none, We have tried to contact tour company, no answer. This is absolutely no way to run a business and we couldn't be more disappointed. It has really affected our once in a lifetime vacation. It sure seems like they may have been approached with a better deal and we were bumped.

Hello I'm so sorry that this tour was cancelled. I tried all alternatives but unfortunately I couldn't get a driver to take my place as I had a medical appointment which came up unexpectedly. Sorry again, Maurice.

Best tour of our two week trip!!

Boy are we glad we booked this tour with Maurice ("Mossy")!!! Truly an amazing day! We enjoyed his humor, knowledge of local history, conversations about Irish culture, and more! He picked us up right off the pier/cruise ship. We went to Blarney Castle and had an amazing tour of the grounds as well as the Castle. He found out that one of us read Dead Weight about the sinking of the Lucitania so took us to that memorial. We also went to Kinsale including a shop where candy is hand-made, a local pub for lunch with a Guiness, a cemetary with important history, a memorial for the Irish who were first responders and died in 911, saw the Titanic's last stop which was on a pier in Ireland, and shopping for an Aran Wool sweater at a place that shipped (and didn't overcharge!). We did SO MUCH and learned a lot!! He had the best spots for pictures too. Most importantly, everywhere we went he knew everyone. I mean everyone! And when we left we felt like we had become friends too. I hope he comes to visit us in Arkansas in the United States and when we return to Ireland we will absolutely call him. Expensive taxi ride to Blarney

I would like to say Maurice is very pleasant, I was looking forward to this as a highlight of our trip. We had Darren as our driver who was friendly. The problem was the start time, Darren came an hour early to try to keep us away from the early crowds, the problem was he tried to call us to inform us of this the day before the tour, but we were on a cruise ship with no phone service. I did have email and text service, but he never tried that. I got an email 2 days before verifying the driver and meeting place but not the start time. That might have been a good time to suggest an earlier start time. Nevertheless, we got to Blarney and were escorted to the back of a large line. While we waited, we watched other tour operators get their passengers to the front of the line. So, we took 3 hours instead of the 2 hours there. When we got back, I asked to go to Kinsale but was told we no longer had time. Darren offered to take us but said it would be riding in the car there and back with no time to see anything. At that point I felt I had no choice but to agree with his recommendation of seeing Cork, what a disappointment, I much rather would have skipped that. We were dropped at an English market and told to have lunch (the market was raw meats, fish and produce, not really a tourist attraction). Also, lunch wasn't something we had asked for. We ended up at a pizza shop. We were then taken to the area of our cruise ship and given the highlights there. Our ship was in port for a long time, we could have easily done those things on our own after we had gotten back from Kinsale.

So, it's advertised as a full day, but you only get 6 hours, and, in my case, there wasn't a big effort to make sure we could see what was advertised.

I would have saved a lot of money on a group tour and gotten to see Kinsale. Was an expensive taxi ride to Blarney.

Hi Louise sorry to hear that you were unhappy on your tour. Firstly you picked the pick up time of 0900 and not us. You failed to mention that you spent 3.5 hours in Blarney Castle and that the tour is advertised as 6/7 hours . Darren offered to fulfil his part and drive you to kinsale as per your itinerary but you declined as you said. Im sorry once again that you didn't enjoy your day but balance must be put on the whole story i feel. Very best regards, Maurice.

Wonderful experience and great guide!!

We had the most amazing time visiting Ireland as a port stop while on our recent cruise! We were matched to the most wonderful guide named Paul Martin; he covered a lot of territory in one day with just 7 short hours for us to be able to take in so much, plus he even managed to allow us time to squeeze in a great local lunch in Kinsale at Jim Edwards pub - the fish and chips there were amazing and highly recommend enjoying it with a pint and some sticky toffee pudding for dessert! Paul knew the history of so many places in Ireland and had some great stories to share everywhere we went! We thoroughly enjoyed this tour and felt so lucky to have been blessed with a wonderful guide and experience! We highly recommend this tour and ask for Paul Martin to be your guide if you can get him, he is absolutely fantastic as a guide; he kept us laughing and entertained the entire tour, but most importantly he kept us on schedule to return to meet our cruise ship on time without making us feel rushed.

The best of the best private driver in Cork

My son and I hired Maurice for a day trip to Dublin from Cork. Maurice is very pleasant, professional and knowledgeable about Ireland. He made the trip pleasurable and is there to please. He even made stops that were not part of the original plan that I mentioned I wanted to visit. I will definitely hire Maurice again when we return to Ireland! Don’t hesitate contact Maurice for your private driver. His car is super clean and luxurious! Thank you Maurice we had a great time thanks to you and will be back to your wonderful country. 🍀🇮🇪

Spectacular!

Our customized private day tour was everything we had hoped for and more. Darren was so accommodating, witty and informative. After a few minutes of conversation he knew just how to structure the day to give us the experience we wanted. All of his recommendations were spot on. We didn’t just enjoy the day, we loved every minute. We went to sights that others would have missed. Highly recommend this.

Top Notch Tour Guide

My family and I recently spent our Christmas holiday in Castlemartyr, County Cork, Ireland. Maurice was our tour guide and driver. Our trip was one of the best family vacations we’ve had, made even more special by the expertise and professionalism of Maurice Kenneally. We could not have asked for a better tour guide- hands down the best we’ve experienced on all of our travels! Most enjoyed was the fact that Maurice makes it “your trip”. He finds out what you want to see most and, if at all possible, makes it happen-even when there are time constraints and weather issues! He also took us to places of which we weren’t aware but were some of the most visited in his country. He didn’t want us to miss them. He suggested wonderful eateries and was totally on our schedule. We set the time. Too many positives to list-courteous, prompt and extremely knowledgeable!

Brilliant - So much knowledge

I booked Maurice for a trip to take American friends around Cork. It was a fantastic day. He had immense knowledge of the area and the local history. He is such an entertaining guy so nice and so pleasurable to be with. I could not recommend him highly enough. The tour took in Kinsale, Cobh and Blarney my visitors had a fantastic trip around Cork. His car was immaculate and his time keeping perfect.
