We visited Athlone in the heart of Ireland with a group of friends to do the Whiskey walking tour. The tour was great, we learned so much about Irish Whiskey, its special character as well as its link to the histrory of Ireland and Irish society. Simply amazing! For everyone who wants to understand more about this traditional heritage and enjoy a lovely selection of Whiskey tastes, this tour is highly recommended!

Was a very interesting tour with lots of infomation and a few nice samples i would recoment to any whiskey lover or anyone just starting out with whiskey and wants to learn some history of irish whiskey

Deirdre was an amazing guide & taught us so much about Irish whiskey. We really enjoyed the tasting and the walk around Athlone. We were there for my Dad's Birthday and she even surprised him with a muffin and candle to celebrate.
We highly recommend this experience to anyone who is looking for something to do in Athlone or has an interest in whiskey. We had a teetotaler on the trip who also thoroughly enjoyed it and was fascinated about the history of whiskey in Ireland.

Oh if only we had more time in Athlone! Deirdre opened up a world of history about the area, the people, and the culture while taking us on a journey in time as well as a physical journey throughout Athlone. Oh and the whiskey! She tailored the experience for us and it was just right! I would highly recommend you book the privilege of a tour with Deirdre!

It was an amazing tour and Deirdre, the tour guide, was very knowldgeable and friendly. I highly recommend both the tours and the tour guide.

So many little bits of interesting history are connected with Athlone Ireland and whiskey and Deirdre is the best tour guide you could wish for. Great few hours had by 7 lads who didn’t really know Athlone before but left back for Dublin wiser about both Athlone and whiskey. Highly recommended

As part of my father's birthday celebration we booked a private whiskey tour with Athlone whiskey tours and it was fantastic. Deirdre was a fabulous tour guide and was so accommodating, the whiskey was great too! It was the highlight of our weekend in Athlone

Huge thank you to the lovely Deirdre of Athlone Whiskey Walking Tour for a really fun & interesting afternoon last Feburary.
Athlone really is steeped in loads of interesting history & facts that I'd never heard of until I did this tour. Fascinating stories & historical buildings right on our doorstep, Plus the whiskey & chocolate tasting was an added bonus!! I Would highly recommend this tour to locals & visitors alike!

We recently spent an amazing afternoon of history, whiskey and craic with Deirdre from Athlone Whiskey Tours. As a native Athlone man I wasn’t expecting to learn so much, but I was wrong! This tour is perfect for locals and tourists alike. Deirdre has premium whiskeys for tasting and has an in-depth knowledge of all things whiskey around the midlands. Cannot recommend the tour enough!

I will be in Athlone on June 30th and July 1st, heading to Galway on the 2nd. It looks like you only do tours on Saturdays, or is that just for the off-season months? Would I be able to book a tour on July 1st?

Yes, our public tours are available on Saturdays but we would be happy to organise a private, evening tour for you on your selected mid-week dates on request.
