We dived as a family, we are certified but the children are not (10 & 15). Absolutely fantastic experience. Kids were taught so well in the pool first and then in the ocean. We had 2 dives, first was a training dive. The kids were so well looked after, and constantly checked on. We all had 2 very relaxing dives. So impressed with the professional approach and Rene was excellent. Very reasonable costs as well. Would definitely recommend.

First time scuba diving and did not disappoint. I was nervous about my first dive, but felt instantly at ease. Our guide was exceptional and the captains were friendly. I could not have imagined a better experience. Thank you!

We dived with Alan on the reef, it was the first time for the both of us (my boyfriend is getting certified and i had the discovery experience as a gift from him).
It was a great experience, Alan is an amazing teacher, very patient and precise in his explanations.

First, it was super easy to book online, and the communication from Ruben and Abi was outstanding! We were nervous, booking a dive experience in Puerto Morelos from Rochester, Minnesota, but it was easy all the way.
Our driver picked us up at the front door of the hotel, and drove us to the dive shop with pleasant conversation the whole way.
Alan was our instructor- and he was PERFECTO! He taught us with kindness and patience, and a liberal amount of wholesome humor - he was just fantastic!
Capitan Oscar took us safely to two different sites, and the diving was everything that we’d hoped, and then some! We saw all sorts of fishes and rays, lots of coral and plants, and Alan was nearby the whole time, helping us feel safe and secure.
We saw lots of lobsters, angel fish, a scorpion fish that was HUGE, and all sorts of other fish!
Back to the dive shop for a quick shower - they took care of everything for us!
We returned to the hotel exhausted and happy - and we can’t say enough good things about Dive With Ruben!

If you're not diving with with Ruben and his crew you've picked the wrong crew. It's that simple.
Our original date was cancelled due to hurricane Grace and Ruben couldn't have been easier to deal with for the weather changes. He quickly found a different date that would work for both parties and scheduled us.
Our dive instructor, Ramiro, was easy to communicate with above and below the water...which is VERY important. Can't recommend these guys enough and thank you for a great experience!

On our recent trip to the Cancun area, we stumbled across the charming ‘Dive with Ruben’ dive shop in Puerto Morelos. We booked a next day discovery dive for 4 people, most of us beginners with only 1-2 previous dives. The shop owners were very friendly, helpful, and professional, and their equipment was in excellent shape. They supplied each of us with all the correctly fitted equipment and supplies we would need, including masks, fins, booties, buoyancy vests, tanks, wet suits, water, a snack, and even a Dramamine if we wanted one!
Our dive instructor Francisco (‘Pancho’) was amazing. He spoke English very well, which was great since we don’t speak much Spanish, and gave us a detailed lesson on everything we needed to know to stay safe on our dive. We practiced necessary dive skills in the pool, including regulator use, recovery and clearing, hand signals, checking oxygen tank levels, cleaning and clearing our mask, buoyancy, etc. He ensured that we each could perform the skills well before our open water dive, and expertly answered all our questions and concerns.
For the dive, the shop staff loaded up all our equipment for us into the boat and took us out to two different reefs for two separate dives. In the water Pancho made us feel safe and secure, and in great hands. He regularly checked our equipment and ensured we had enough oxygen remaining in our tanks. He led us slowly down 30 feet ensuring that we were equalizing our ear pressure, which was one of the hardest things for me to master. I almost gave up, but Pancho patiently helped me through it, and I’m SO glad I didn’t quit.
The dives themselves were beautiful and awesome experiences. The first dive was about 40-45 minutes and the second was about 35 minutes. It felt like being an astronaut weightlessly floating on another planet filled with beautiful creatures. We saw and swam amongst schools and schools of dozens of species of brightly colored fish, large and small, a sea turtle (surreal!), puffer fish, stingray, large conch, coral reefs and sea anemones.
Thanks to the ‘Dive with Ruben’ shop for one of the most fascinating and exciting experiences I’ve had in my life :-)
