My partner and I had a fantastic time on this undersea walk last Friday. Our small group set out promptly at 9am. On the way, we were given a detailed primer on how the walk would go, and what we would see. The walk itself was a unique experience, made more special by the amount of time we were able to spend underwater. The Hartleys are great at what they do, and were full of information and easy to talk to. On the way back, we enjoyed sitting on the top deck, relaxing the sea breeze and taking in the amazing views. I recommend getting the picture package with USB drive: you get great pictures of your group, pictures of the sea life you just saw, and some great historical gems as well.

It has taken generations of hospitality, friendliness & love to build this experience into a TOP SHELF must do, when visiting Bermuda.
Greg, The Fish Whisperer, truly takes to heart the interaction with undersea nature. He is fun, intelligent, knowledgeable & a jokester who is fantastic with children & adults alike.
I watched him calm those with reservations. These are the same ones who are overjoyed Greg took the time to walk them through this Once-in-a-Lifetime walk in the underwater sand.
He teaches with compassion for the sea creatures he loves. His son is equally as caring, helpful and kind.
I make this same trip 30 years ago with Greg…. He’s just as passionate today as he was then. Don’t miss the opportunity to take the plunge with Hartley’s Sea Walk!!!

Thanks for rave review. However, due to cranial enlargement, I will need a bigger diving helmet! I would prefer you come more often than every 30 years. Thanks for the return visit. We look forward to the next Once-in-a-lifetime experience.

This is definitely the must-go activity in Bermuda! We have a family of 8, from 8yr to 70yr. Some of members never learn swimming and never would imagine themselves underwater. But captain Greg made it come true!
During the ride, captain Greg shared the history of the family business, back to his father and grandfather. Then he showed some customers pictures (with dog/cat underwear too) to ensure we would be totally safe during the trip. When we arrived the location, Greg and his son Ben helped us professionally to get to the sea bottom. My parents don’t understand English at all but Greg still nicely helped them out.
When we all arrived bottom, the fish were immediately around us, they surely know their friend Greg! It was truly amazing to see and touch snappers, starfishes, eels, sea cucumbers and coral reefs at such a close way. Also, Greg took all pictures and videos for us patiently. We were so lucky to only have two teams on the same ride, so each team had about 50 minutes to stay underwater. What a precious experience we have!
All family are so happy with the trip and highly recommend to anyone who never dived before. The whole experience won’t let you down!

This was a wonderful experience unlike anything I’ve done before. I loved seeing and interacting with the fish and animals on the reef. It only took a few seconds to acclimate to being underwater. The man leading us around underwater was so nice and knowledgeable and made you feel comfortable. This is a family business so they’ve been doing this for years. My favorite part was holding a sea cucumber!

Great trip tons of fish and a lot of information. We had a party of 5 with age ranges of '20s to '50s. I would recommend for any ages.

Walking on the ocean floor among the fish and eels is something all of us need to do .It is really the aquarium coming to you. Enjoy this family friendly adventure at the reef and keep your hair dry!

The only reason I'm giving Hartley's Helmut Diving 5 stars is because I can't give it more! This was definitely the highlight of our trip to Bermuda to celebrate our 50th anniversary. It was definitely one of the coolest experiences of my life. We saw (and held) so many beautiful fish and the reefs themselves were incredible. Captain Hartley did an amazing job preparing us for and guiding us through the dive. It was fun, educational and most of all, just a downright blast! I just don't have the words to describe what a fantastic experience it was. If we ever make it back to Bermuda, we're definitely booking another dive! Highly recommend.

My two boys and I enjoyed this unique wonderful day trip. It felt like an underwater classroom learning about the underwater coral and sea life. Amazing to be surrounded by fish and to have pictures and videos to enjoy forever. My boys are already asking when we can return. Highly recommend this excursion. A top experience in Bermuda!

We really enjoyed this. It was very different than the one we did in St Maarten (where you walk along a course). This one is very up close and personal with the fish. If you’re ok with that, this is excellent. The owner is very passionate about what they do, and it shows. Thank you!

Thank you for taking Gino & I out for an unforgettable adventure, it was the highlight of our trip! The knowledge you have of the area, undersea life, corals, fish and the trust/relationship they show with you is so incredible to see. I was honestly pretty nervous as I’m not a strong swimmer, but quickly realized it’s really not necessary for this excursion and your confidence and experience shines through any worries I had about diving. Captain Greg & son, thank you for sharing this special tour with us, it was a one of a kind experience we hope to visit again!
Tourists, some travel planning insight, this was the perfect activity in the 3ish hour range. Wether your visiting on a cruise or staying at a resort (we were staying at Grotto Bay and took the orange line ferry from St George to the Naval Dockyards- then took the bus back through Hamilton, it was a great day touring the island from every mode of transportation!) Book the tour, buy the pictures add-on to be able to share with your fam & friends to show them what you did as this is what you will be talking about from your visit to Bermuda! 🤩
*Also, side note as small family business owners ourselves- support this local family business by sharing with friends visiting Bermuda, book directly with them & come back to show them some love in the reviews :)

How far is the ride from Hamilton Dock yard cruise terminal to the Hartley Helmet Dive? What should we take to get there? Bus, cab etc? Thx coming there in June.

Where do we keep our belongings while diving such as phones credit cards etc?

You'll keep all of your stuff in your backpack, bag etc. and leave it on the boat while diving. Nobody will mess with your stuff, as there is generally only about 10 or less passengers and the diving staff. They've never had any issues with stuff coming up missing.

I would say yes. My guess is your not in the last months of your pregnancy because your able to take a flight. The only thing to consider is if you might get sea sick on the boat ride from the dock out to the diving site (if my memory serves me correct the boat ride is definitely less than an hour). Other than that its just a helmet going over your head and resting on your shoulders.

No you dont. You climb down a ladder into the ocean (about 10ft below). Depending on the temperature of the water, you will be provided with a wet suit; a weight belt placed around you waste which stops you flow floating up. The helmet is rest over your head (there's a hose connected at the back out your way which provided your oxygen). I am not a strong swimmer and my 2 friends cannot swim at all and we all did the dive and it was amazing. Go for it and you will not regret it.
