This was the best helmet dive we've been on. Yes, we have done others. Unlike the others , we were taken by boat to the reef. On the way, we were told what to expect. Taken down by two, a group of six. The guide navigated us around using a flexible plastic bar or guide bar. Showing us different coral and fish. He even told us how to hold our hands so the fish would swim through. Each group of six was down underwater for a minimum of 45 minutes.
We enjoyed it so much we'll be doing it again!

My 23-year-old daughter and I had a fantastic time on this excursion. The wonderful father-son duo really introduced us to an experience that we will not forget. It was safe and informative. Thank you!

This excursion was phenomenal! Highly recommend! You don't need to know how to swim and your hair doesn't get wet! Loved learning about the sea life and witnessing first hand the relationship between the Hartley's and the beautiful sea life. Book directly with Hartley's so that your pics and video are included in price. Can't wait to go back and "dive" again!

My husband and son went together and could not stop raving about this unique, amazing experience! It was so informative and fun! A once in a lifetime experience - I'm sorry I missed it. It was their favorite part of our cruise to Bermuda! Thank you to the Captain and his son!

One of the highlights of our visit to Bermuda. Truly a different kind of experience. The pictures alone will be worth it! If you are squeamish I wouldn't worry much, you are only down about 10-12 feet underwater and the helmet apparatus is very easy to use and breathe in.

Had a fun, unique time with Captain Hartley and first mate Ben. Definitely a different kind of snorkel/dive experience. The best part is watching squeamish family members get freaked out by the friendly fish. Get ready for an education!

Captain Heartly and his son were excellent hosts and guides. We learned so much about the ecosystem surrounding Bermuda and the identification of various fish and coral. They were very patient and made sure that we were safe and felt comfortable with the diving gear. Highly recommend this excursion.

What a blast! This is not like any other helmet dive, walking into an area and holding onto a railing. No sir! We boarded a boat. Given instructions and then entered into the water.
Saw all kinds of fish. Our guide has experience in "training " the fish. And told us how to hold our hands so the fish came right up into your hands!
We walked around a reef , and the guide was able to tell us what we were seeing. We were submerged about 11 feet. The experience under the water was about 30 to 45 minutes.
We will definitely do this again!

This was probably one of the coolest experiences of my life. I’m slightly claustrophobic and was apprehensive at first, but the Greg and his son were so thorough and helpful, after 10 sec I was fine. It was like swimming around in Finding Nemo. We absolutely loved it. It was beautiful. Pay extra for the photos…you will definitely want them.

This was an amazing experience. If ever your in Bermuda I strongly advise doing this excursion. Captain Greg and his son Ben were amazing. You can tell they love what they do and they love the ocean and the animals with in it. Don't miss your chance to experience something you will remember forever.

How far is the ride from Hamilton Dock yard cruise terminal to the Hartley Helmet Dive? What should we take to get there? Bus, cab etc? Thx coming there in June.

Where do we keep our belongings while diving such as phones credit cards etc?

You'll keep all of your stuff in your backpack, bag etc. and leave it on the boat while diving. Nobody will mess with your stuff, as there is generally only about 10 or less passengers and the diving staff. They've never had any issues with stuff coming up missing.

I would say yes. My guess is your not in the last months of your pregnancy because your able to take a flight. The only thing to consider is if you might get sea sick on the boat ride from the dock out to the diving site (if my memory serves me correct the boat ride is definitely less than an hour). Other than that its just a helmet going over your head and resting on your shoulders.

No you dont. You climb down a ladder into the ocean (about 10ft below). Depending on the temperature of the water, you will be provided with a wet suit; a weight belt placed around you waste which stops you flow floating up. The helmet is rest over your head (there's a hose connected at the back out your way which provided your oxygen). I am not a strong swimmer and my 2 friends cannot swim at all and we all did the dive and it was amazing. Go for it and you will not regret it.
