Fantastic trip. Excellent guide called Evan drive us and was very informative. I would totally recommend it. A great lunch was provided, the bus was comfortable and just an easy day out.

Sunset cruise was excellent!
Picked up from the Tavern so no need to take hire car on dirt road. So many crocs and different birds. Just wonderful. The lagoon spot at sunset was magical with so many birds flying in. Bird knowledge excellent.
Stayed overnight at the Tavern to avoid wallabies on road and have the experience of the birds roosting at sunset.

Hi Mike, Thanks so much for that awesome review. The Wetlands are magical and make for some great photos for your memories of the Top End. Paul (Meat Loaf) has great knowledge of the area as well as Crocs, birds and the flora and fauna. Thanks again

Magical wetland cruise about 90minutes drive from Darwin. Great to experience the wildlife of the territory in their natural habit. Enjoyed the sunset cruise with the added bonus of the wildlife being active but also the pleasure of enjoying a Northern Territory sunset. Plenty of crocodiles in their natural habit plus birdlife, wallabies and water buffalo. Had the special experience of seeing a freshwater crocodile in the wild, special as they are more elusive to view in the wild than the Estuary "saltwater " crocodile. The guide was very informative and made it a pleasure to travel along the billabong and even for a small stretch of the Mary River. On the way home also had to stop the car for a herd of wild water buffalo crossing the road and saw wallabies and water buffalo along the side of the road. Obviously the sun has set after the cruise so be cautious driving home in the dark, especially along the Arnhem Highway.

The Corroboree Billabong is a magical place with so much birdlife and wildlife and it is especially beautiful at sunset. Your guide for the tour Chris, loves to share his knowledge of the area and find all the special things to show our guests.

First off, Angie on the phone was lovely, helpful and very friendly. Chris, captain/tour guide was sensational. So much information about the Billabong, the crocs and bird life. We did both the Sunset cruise and the Sunrise cruise, and both were excellent for different reasons. Definitely can recommend.

Great cruise. Kids loved it. And so did we. We saw fresh and salt water crocodiles. Chris was amazing and loves his job and takes the time to show us around. Very magical moment in this wetland. Lots of birds such as Jabirus. Definitely a must!

What an amazing experience. Such a knowledgeable interesting guide. Thank you Chris. So many crocodiles. Birds were so plentiful, especially the JABIRU. Herons, ducks and more. Buffalo and large pig.

This was spectacular. Bird life in abundance & some huge crocs fighting over a buffalo carcass & territory. We even saw a dingo & a python on the way to the Billabong. Chris was so informative & an awesome guide.

Amazing afternoon with Chris and Angie on the cruise along the Corroboree Billabong in a section of the Mary River Wetlands. Despite its reputation for hosting a large population of saltwater crocodiles, we encountered only a few freshies and salties.
The abundant birdlife around the Billabong and the sprawling wetlands, with rows of colourful lotus flowers and water lilies were the main attractions for us. Our highlights were seeing Australasian Darters, also known as snakebirds, hunting fish and observing the Jabiru, with its stunning iridescent purple-green neck, performing its "hunting dance".

Chris and Angie will love hearing you had a great cruise :) The Corroboree Billabong really showcases nature at its best and it's fantastic you got to experience all of its highlights. Fantastic sunset cruise led by Chris from Wetlands Cruises at Corroboree Billabong. We appreciated the wealth of knowledge about the birds, trees, plants and crocodiles. Personable and fun, interacted with us all.
Would absolutely recommend.
The sunset tour ended with an excellent position on the billabong to take in the colours in the sky and reflections on the water.

Great cruise and from Chris. He spotted all sorts of wildlife - crocs freshies and salty and the bird life was amazing. Such a great trip and well guided with a pick up from our accommodation

Hi, Do you still run the lunch trip and will it operate in late September 2019?

You would need to contact the operator direct to confirm, but from past experience September should still be operating, but may be hotter than Dry Season. Lower water levels in this month improve the opportunities to see wildlife & crocs. Road access should not be a problem unless the rains have started, which would be unusual as November is generally the start of Wet Season.
