This was a lovely, relaxing, informative,trip.
The staff were all lovely and friendly.
The lunch was amazing, with something for everyone, on the menu.
The drive up and back was really interesting and professionally performed by Phil who was a great guide.
Definitely recommend this trip and company.

THE WHOLE DAY STARTED WITH A PICK UP AT HOTEL, BY A VERY INFORMANT GUIDE BY THE NAME OF YVONNE, WE LEARNED SO MUCH ON THE HOUR DRIVE AND WERE ENTERTAINED THE WHOLE WAY. GOT TO THE BOAT AND MET REX, THE TOUR OPERATOR, A FORMER PARKS AND WILDLIFE RANGER IN THE AREA FOR OVER 40 YEARS. AFTER A SAFETY TALK WE WERE ON THE RIVER AND IT WAS NOT LONG BEFORE WE ENCOUNTERED OUR FIRST CROCODILE. THE FURTHER UP THE RIVER WE WENT, THE MORE CROCODILES WE ENCOUNTERED AND THE SIGHT OF THESE
BEAUTIFUL ANIMALS HALFWAY OUT OF THE WATER WAS AMAZING. THE BOAT ITSELF WAS FULLY PROTECTIVE WITH A STURDY MESH AND IN NO WAY WE OR ANYONE ELSE FELT THREATENED. THE TOUR SEEMED TO BE LONGER THAN FIRST THOUGHT, BUT IN ALL IN ALL WAS VERY CLOSE TO 2 HOURS, AND AFTER LANDING BACK AT THE WHARF, WE WERE SHUTTLED BACK TO OUR HOTEL. WE HAVE DECIDED WE WILL BE BACK AND DEFINITELY GO BACK WITH THIS TOUR. THE BEST VALUE FOR MONEY FOR ANYONE.

Explore25525006156. Thank you for this. Really nice review but unfortunately I am not the operator for your day as we do not do crocodile tours. Hopefully there are no crocodiles in the River Murray in South Australia where we operate. . It would be nice if possible if you could forward this review to the correct operator. I am happy to hear that you have enjoyed your day though

Due to extreme weather conditions, the cruise had to be cancelled. Was offered an alternative tour with a scenic drive a d stops along the way, that was highly customised and personalised, more than what I could have asked for. The tour guide was very knowledgeable, friendly and helpful too. Highly recommended!

Was disappointing for the cost. The food was dreadful, I ordered grilled fish and chips which was cold. The journey along the river was not particularly interesting. Staff were all very pleasant.

Bernadette, I'm sorry that you had not enjoyed your River Murray Cruise along the Murray River. On return that evening Robert your driver did tell me there was an issue with your food not being as hot as you wished and I have expressed your review of the meal to the vessel management.
In saying that, you have omitted the full itinerary that we also include in the full day tour which adds so much value to the Adelaide Hills/Captain Proud 3 hour river Murray lunch cruise/sightseeing tour. We visit Mt Lofty, Stirling, Bridgewater & Aldgate. Beerenberg Strawberry farm as well as a 1 hour stopover in Hahndorf on the way home.
We normally get very good reviews from a majority of our tours on the vessel and feel disappointed that you were let down this time by your lunch. The picture posted does not do the Captain Proud justice. The wharf area is managed by council, there are reasons for the fencing that surrounds the area due to damage by the floods to the old historic wharf and beyond our control. Stay Safe and I hope you enjoy the rest of your time in Adelaide. Greig CP Tours

Thoroughly enjoyed our day. The Murray River cruise part was enjoyable, but not spectacular. They served a great lunch and were very personable all round. We travelled in a small group (4) in a super comfortable van with Roy as driver. He was an excellent guide being both funny and flexible to accommodate his guests. We were his absolute focus. Met some lovely people on the day - just a shame we live on opposite sides of the Continent. Thoroughly recommend!

Enjoyed the day very much.The 3 hour paddle steamer ride along the Murray River was very relaxing Delicious 2 course lunch on board with plenty of options to choose from.We had a quick stop at Mt Lofty on the way to the cruise and a quick look through the Beerenberg factory.After the cruise we had approximately an hour in Handouf.It was a really nice day spent in a very pretty area of South Australia.My only niggle was our driver Alan had a real thing about seatbelts.I understand this is the law and am happy to comply,however he was a real Hitler about it.We had barely sat in our seats and he was on our case about it,made us feel a bit on edge.Apart from that a very nice day.Thank you very much.

Weird experience. Like travelling back to early 20th century. The boat needs serious renovation. Wouldn’t recommend it. Waste of money and a day.

Traditional Paddle Wheelers are a step back into history unlike modern-day cruise ships or modern day vessels and their design comes from the 1850s. The vessel will be getting some renovations but they also want to keep what is old and traditional feel of a day gone by. I do appreciate your review and wish you safe travels.

Great little tour in Adelaide Hills. Came out to this Australian town to visit some family and they thought it would be nice to cruise down the river. Great staff and service. We recommend to anyone visiting if you are after a nice relaxed cruise and great views of the town and the nature.

The best day of our trip! We had an amazing time discovering the Adelaide hills and Murray river with Roy. He was an absolute joy to have as a guide. We unfortunately had a terrible experience with another portion of our holiday however Roy did everything he could and was extremely flexible with rearranging the day to suit this issue. There’s nothing better than a company where their workers truly love their job! We couldn’t thank Roy enough as he went above and beyond for us, he even helped us with planning the next few days of our holiday! Will definitely be rebooking if we return to Adelaide! 10/10 service.

We had a great day with Roy who was very entertaining and informative. We managed to see all the sites before the crowds on a busy day. A very relaxing river cruise. Great views of Adelaide and its surrounds.

We did this in February and there were no vaccination restrictions. That was when things were much stricter covidwise than they are today. I would therefore guess there would be no restrictions. Enjoy the trip, it was great

I think they pick up from several hotels in Adelaide. We stayed at the Oaks Embassy Suites but I know there were several pickups and drop offs from other hotels. Enjoy your trip, this one was worth it! Sheila
