Overall this tour was OK, a good overview of Tasmania.
The only problem with the first 5 days was with the bus itself. The windows fogged up so badly we couldn’t even see out! When I told our tour guide about it, he gave us a cloth to wipe the windows BUT they immediately fogged up again. It was frustrating to be on a sightseeing tour yet not be able to see the sights. :(
Also the seating on the bus felt frustrating. We paid extra for upgraded rooms BUT we were usually the last ones picked up, so we got stuck in the worst seats in the back of the bus-crammed in with no leg room & super foggy windows!
The same person sat in the best seat on the bus-the passenger seat next to the driver- the entire time, which we felt was not right, seats should be rotated IMHO. The same people also occupied the seats behind the driver most of the trip, panoramic views & lots of leg room, while we were squashed in the cramped back seats….finally at the end of the tour we were picked up early & managed to snag those seats, much to the dismay of those people, who complained! As though those seats belonged to them? I was told they got preferential seating due to motion sickness????
There are motion sickness meds available so that simply becomes an excuse to take over the best seats on the bus, unless the tour guide takes charge….also on other tours we’ve been on, the bus is never packed to max capacity! Extra seats allow room to move about without sacrificing views or comfort.
From other tours people offer these comments:
"My wife and I just took our fourth Rick Steves' trip and on each one of them our guide said on the first day that no one should be in the very front seats of the bus more than one day.
The max trip size of the RS tours are 28 and many go out with fewer members. Each of these buses are large and I would guess they seat up to 60 people so it's not cramped at all. Folks do spread out and I think it's fun (and considerate) to move around the bus."
Maybe this tour operator should take note of these suggestions for their tour guides?

I’m so glad I booked this tour with underdownunder. It was a great combination of wildlife spotting, scenic treks, and learning about the history of Tasmania.
Big shout out to KP who guided us for the first 5 days; she was super bubbly and had a fantastic playlist for the bus!
Also, thanks to Keegan who showed us around Bruny island and the Tasman Peninsula. Lots of interesting wildlife and history knowledge was shared.
Both the tour guides made the trip, you won’t go a day without laughing! And it was a fantastic group of people. My top 3 highlights were Bays of Fire, Cradle Mountain, Tasman Peninsula (including Port Arthur). I’d definitely book another tour in the future.

I did the Super 7 tour and it was very good. We saw a lot of amazing places in Tasmania in such a short time without the feeling of having to hurry. The group and our tour guide Misty were awesome - we had much fun and a lovely time together.

Had the most amazing tour (and guide) ever. Misty is an amazing person and guide. Misty brings sooo much joy, good energy and happiness to the days. It’s great to have a joyful, funny and happy person as a guide. I only had Misty as a guide for the first 5 days, the last 2 days weren’t as enjoyable as the5 days with Misty! She has an amazing ability to bring people together and by day 2 the whole group already felt like a family. I’m 100% sure the tour wouldn’t be the same without Misty!

I had an overwhelmingly positive experience with this guided tour and especially with the tour guide, Misty. She put so much love and passion into guiding us, from calling us a family, to remembering ALL of our names within the first hour, to showing us how to appreciate and connect with the land. I had no idea of what to expect from this tour and I was blown totally out of the water. I fell in love with Tasmania and I made lifelong friends with some of the people in my group. Even when things weren’t perfect, like the weather was gloomy, Misty showed us an appreciation for everything in a new light. She’ll tell you she’s the funniest person in Tasmania, and I guess you’re gonna have to go on tour with her to find out ;) 10/10 would do it all again.

Has a great experience with Misty as our tour guide! Saw many great and beautiful places and really enjoyed this trip.
Felt like really good value for the trip, would recommend upgrading to the private room hostel option if you're like me and can't hack shared form rooms any more.
Really appreciated how well structured and organised it felt with Misty, with very regular toilet stops, informed where to source drinkable water, and some fun treat stops too! Apparently tour is adjusted slightly to make the best of the weather which is ace.
Mostly backpackers, with a few older people on holiday also, but all made for a really nice group of people, which Misty encouraged to come together over family/group dinners. She helped create a great vibe for the tour, and was really fantastic.
We had Keegan for the last two days of our tour doing Bruny Island and the Tasman Peninsula, and his knowledge of the local history and environments we were in, were super in depth! Learnt a lot about native animals and the sad history of Tasmania, which was appreciated.
I'd highly recommend Under Down Under tours to see Tasmania, and would book with them again. Booking direct with them allows you to view different room options.

Such a great tour! We did and saw so much everyday and were accompanied by a super upbeat and knowledgeable guide (shoutout KP!). As young women traveling together we felt safe the whole time and made memories to last a lifetime :). Thank you Under Down Under

A fun and unforgettable experience in Tasmania! My wife and I joined the Super 7 in Dec 2022, with Misty as our tour guide for the first five days. I loved it all! Cradle mountain, the Bicheno penguins (night tour was fully booked but we managed to spot some at Redhill Beach on our own walk), swimming at the bay of fires beach... and of course, meeting all the people in our group!
Misty is a great tour guide and person - cool, funny and absolutely approachable. Along the trip, we enjoyed her stories, jokes, music playlist and poems! She bonded us as a group and made us a 'family'. Misty cares deeply for everyone placed under her care in those 5 or 7 days. When my wife misplaced her handbag in a cafe at Sheffield, Misty made arrangements with the cafe to pick it up on her next tour. Misty then personally fedexed it to back to SG. Thanks Misty!

I travelled solo over the Christmas break and joined the Super 7 tour in hostel accommodation. What an incredible experience. I cannot stop talking about it! Travelled solo and wasn't sure what to expect in terms of group and accommodation. Ended up finding a family and great group of friends. Misty was the guide for the first 5 days. She made sure that everyone (24 in the group) feels welcome. The age range was from 20's up to 70's. Mistry is very knowledgeable and her laugh is infectious.
All activities this tour offed (from Bay of Fires, Wineglass bay walk to Cradle Mountain and Bruny Island) are a great way to sample the beauty, landscape, wilderness and food Tasmania has to offer. We even celebrated New Year's Eve together in Hobart and danced all night after a long day of travelling. The smiles and laughter during this trip did not stop.
Would highly recommend this tour. Thanks Misty for the incredible experience.

Such an amazing trip! Cradle Mountain is a must-see, the landscape is so beautiful. I also recommend the penguin tour if you can make it in Bicheno, they are so cute! And the play in Strahan was hilarious, recommend going to see that if you can.
Our guide Misty was super friendly, fun, had great stories and jokes, and was great at bringing everyone together, so by the end all 24 of us (ranging in age from early 20s to 70s) felt like a big family. Honestly one of the best guides I’ve ever had (and I’ve been on a lot of tours). Request Misty as your guide if you can, she really made the trip!
Our guide Misty was super friendly, fun, had great stories and jokes, and was great at bringing everyone together, so by the end all 24 of us (ranging in age from early 20s to 70s) felt like a big family. My friend and I are going to this adventure either 26 or 28 December 2021. We both double vaccinated from Sydney inner west and will book this afternoon.
It will be great if you give me an answer for following questions
1. Do we travel in Tasmania now?
2. How should I dress for this tour?
3. Do you provide breakfast?
4. How much do i prepare for meals and additional cost for this tour approximately.
5. Is it possible bring our luggage other than backpack. If yes, how heavy or bulky?

I can answer some questions for you. Each morning we would stop by a bakery for breakfast. So very reasonable options. We stayed in motels so no cooking facilities but those that stayed in the hostels could cook their own food for breakfast and dinner. Most of the time there were several food outlets so you could choose where you want to eat, but always good value options. In Tassie, always wear layers. Even in summer in some locations can get very cold. We had a suitcase each and day backpack. I think the info guide specifies how big but ours were fairly large.
