I was on this tour with a friend for his birthday present. The tour guide was very informative and had lots of information about the history of Melbourne distilleries. We went to 3 bars and although everyone on the tour were whiskey lovers we had more Gin than Whiskey. I was a bit disappointed as we thought we were getting a whiskey tour. If you like Gin this is definatley the tour for you.

Hi there! Thanks for the positive review - we do advertise this tour as a whisky and gin tour (it does what it says on the tin) so the drink inclusions are a mix of both spirits. Thanks again for joining us!

We really enjoyed our Whiskey and Gin tour, great mix of people. Really enjoyed the Boilermaker Bar and the Little Lon Distillery and Alba new her stuff.

We went on the Gin and Whiskey Walking History Tour. Six of us did this tour for my husband's 50th birthday. Alda was our guide and was very knowledgeable on the history of the area we toured. We went to 3 bars that we (as locals) had never been to before and we loved every single one... we did a tasting flight at each bar and got to try quite a few whiskeys and gins. Our guide pointed out other bars that we want to go back and try out. I would recommend these tours whether you are a local or a visitor to Melbourne. My hubby had an unforgettable birthday.

Alda was entertaining , displayed charisma and knowledgeable

The TripAdvisor page for this tour says snacks were to be provided, but none were provided. The attendees asked politely about these missing snacks a few times but no explanation was forthcoming. So we drank on empty stomachs for 3 hours. One attendee was sick.

Hi there, thanks for your feedback. I'll cover these one at a time.
Snacks: Absolutely, you are right. We normally provide some light bar snacks (e.g. peanuts etc) but to be perfectly honest, this was our first tour back in nearly 6 months. Both us and your bar partners are a little rusty after such a long hiatus. So my apologies for that.
Drinking on empty stomachs: As dinner is not provided, we do advise people to eat before the tour begins.The afternoon tour starts at 3.30pm and finishes about 6/6:30pm, so the expectation is that you would have eaten lunch before the tour begins.
Guests being sick: This is news to myself and the guide on the night, who stayed at the final bar until about 30mins after the tour concluded (until that point no one was sick). I'd love to understand more, so please contact me directly.
Overall, it's clear your experience wasn't at the level to which we aspire. We can only promise to do all we can to ensure people have nothing less than a 5-star experience from now on.

Absolute ripper of a tour. Ben was very accommodating running the tour for us and Lenny was a brilliant guide and wealth of knowledge about the production of Whisky and Gin and with great stories of Melbourne's drinking history. We have walked pass some the venues many times and never knew they were there.

Such a fun night! Ben is a fantastic tour guide, lots of fun and quirky historical facts about gin and whisky & great bars. I am a Melbourne local and I would recommend this tour to both locals and visitors.

Ben took our small group through the laneways of Melbourne to discover some amazing whisky and gin bars. Fascinating, well-researched stories along with a tasting of some excellent spirits has given e a new appreciation of Melbourne's history and current standing in the gin and whisky world. Highly recommended

Our guide, Tom, was great. Not only did we learn a lot about Melbourne's history, we visited some amazing sites and bars. Everyone who visits Melbourne should take this tour and if I could have given 6 stars I would have.
