We bought the Christchurch Pass and the back of the shuttle tickets says there are shuttles leaving the gondola at 11:05, 12:35, 13:35. So we went back down the hill on the gondola at 12:15 thinking we were making good time. Turned out the departure times had changed and the shuttles now leave the gondola at 12:00 and then 13:30, so we ended up waiting more than an hour for the shuttle. If the schedule has changed, so should the damn tickets. They don't even have to print new tickets if they don't want to. They can just print stickers with the correct times to put on the tickets or at the very least have the staff point it out when the tickets were purchased. Instead evidently they just thought 'oh no biggie they can just wait'.

I purchased the Christhurch Pass in advance of our visit to Christchurch and found that it was great value. First you need to pick up all of your tickets ffrom the main office and then is up to you on which one you see first. It covers the Avon Punt, Botanical Gardens catepillar, hop on hop off city tram and the gondola which includes the return shuttle.

Fantastic overview of the city center, commentary highlighted many surprising aspects, real value for money, being able to hop on and off at our leisure allowed each of us to pursue our own interests yet still catch up throughout the day. We would recommend this way of seeing the city not only to get around but to meet with fellow travellers and interact with the amazing conductors and drivers.

This is a lovely little tour on a old tram. The driver was very friendly and had lots of information and nice stories. You can hop on & hop off at any of the stages. Nice way to see Christchurch.

This is a great way to see Christchurch if you only have a short time, and they run regular. Hop on off, and good commentary about the history and the earthquakes. Driver was very helpful in given directions for out f the way places to see.

We experienced this form of touring Christchurch by luck. Not knowing where to start and what to see first, we happened upon the tram out side the cathedral. We did a tour and the conductors all knew their stuff and advised us when and where to get off to see various attractions we knew we wanted to see. Great experience and cost value for couples travelling around Christchurch. I will review attractions separately, The quake centre, The Cathedral and the new cardboard cathedral are all must sees.

Does the tram take you to the Gondola or do you have to take some other means of transportation? My sister has mobility problems so she cannot walk long distances. Thanks

There is a shuttle that takes you there from one of the Tram stops, they will tell you at the Christchurch Attractions shop when you buy the pass.

With the Christchurch Sightseeing Pass, do I need to exchange for tickets to the 4 attractions? In particular, do I need to queue to exchange for the Gondola ride. Is the Gondola ride a one-way or return trip?

I don't know the answer to all your questions, but I do know the Gondola ride is a return trip. It also includes entrance to the 'time tunnel' at the top which is a must-see experience.
