We booked the Hop on Hop off tour hoping to get more of a taste of New Zealand’s craft beer scene and we were not disappointed. Peter was engaging and interesting and helped to customize our tour based on our preferences and interests. In our half-day tour we stopped 5 great beer places, 2 breweries and 3 taverns with great local beer selections. Fun way to spend a day in Queenstown!

The drivers, Pete and Rob, were fabulous! They gave information on the history and the area. Great sense of humor and just loads of fun!

Booked from Picton and most of the wineries didn’t offer wine tours. No information on the bus, no commentary. Basically a waste of money.

Hello Jackie Harringburn, we are very surprised by your review, as you left Picton at 12.30 pm and as you know we put a special vehicle on for this as we stop running out of Picton at 11.30am. There are several places to go and we did give you some advice. We have over 29 stops in Marlborough. As you left late in the day and did not say where you tried to go I am unsure of why you got no tasting as 99% of everyone else did. Thanks HOHO

Great tour. We had Pete as driver and was excellent and very knowledgeable. Gave us an opportunity to taste wine, eat cheese and have a good look around. Loved Arrowtown

Had a brilliant day looked after and lead by George our driver. Good banter and informative information needed throughout the day to get the most value and memorable experience (keeping wine filled adults must be hard at times lol).

The wineries were great. Just wasn't a big fan of the bus. It was continually running about 10+ minutes late which doesn't seem like a big deal but when you only get about 40 minutes at a vineyard, 10-15 minutes really cuts it down quite a bit. The drivers were pretty snippy to all on the bus. But, it was a very economical way to get to the vineyards if you don't have a car.

Although the timetable was a bit daunting without explanation, it all became a breeze once we were on board. The professionalism and friendliness of the drivers was amazing. We were able to get in half a dozen stops on the all day tour and would highly recommend Mt Rosa and Rifters Gin Distillery. Huge call out to George - great driver and 'tour guide!' As we were staying on Frankton Rd, the driver offered us a hotel drop off! well worth the experience to have an experience!

Super easy and convenient to use. Buses were within 5 minutes of schedule all day. Great way to visit the local wineries. Drivers provided interesting detail on local sites. Would definitely use again.

We had the best day touring the wineries 🍷, our drivers George and Pete were excellent, negotiating both the queenstown drivers and patrons of the service. Great day out!

Our driver Leona was next level, loads of fun, very knowledgeable and really hightened our experience. Such a great way to get around to so many beautiful hidden wineries and key stops in one day. I highly recommend this tour with HoHo wine and beer tours Queenstown.

Hi,
Just to clarify, if we are wanting to finish the tour a bit earlier (i.e. after 2-3 stops for example) do we just hop back on the bus and it will take us back into town?

Nope! This is the problem I had, I followed the time table and said they going to go back into arrowtown, but the driver even refused to continue with the timetable as “all people are now in the valley and it doesn’t work that way” so took a break instead.
We had to organise our own way back into town as we started at the I think 10/10.30am tour and didn’t want to stay until 5.30pm for the back to town stop

I didn't notice since I'm not vegan. Normally, producers or retailers don't specifically separate the wines suitable for vegan from others in their tasting room or on their bottle shops. You might find the relevant information from the back labels or from their websites.

Hi,
WOuld like some clarification. The cost per person is really for the transport to the different places, but each passenger can hop off and stay in a place and then hop on again to go to another place? So how many times can you hop on and off in a day? How long can you use the ticket? If we are 14, is it possible to create a tour for us specifically? How much would that cost?
