Wir waren am 10. März 2023 dort - für 'Klassikneulinge' vielleicht ganz nett, für Musikliebhaber nicht zu empfehlen! Z.B. wurden Mozarts 'Türkischer Marsch' und Beethovens 'Für Elise' auf dem Flügel schlimm heruntergehämmert - aber mehrere Zuschauer fanden das so toll, dass sie es mit dem Handy mitgeschnitten haben.

Beautiful music played by superb musicians. Highlight of our trip to Prague. We would both recommend the concert very highly. The palace was a perfect setting.

Thanks for coming to listen to one our concerts, we are very happy to hear that you enjoyed it. Music is a huge part of the House of Lobkowicz and it's so important to us to bring it to as many people as we can. De bewegwijzering moet beter. Het blijkt zich nl te bevinden in het Prague Palace. Na heel veel zoeken en vragen. Waren wij te laat. Een enorme teleurstelling. En we waren doodmoe van het zoeken en van het van hot naar her gestuurd te zijn.

The Lobkowicz Palace was built in 1550 and is the only privately owned building in the Prague Castle complex. The museum opened in 2007 and hosts the Lobkowicz collection.
In 22 galleries over 2 floors, you find works by Cannoletto, Breughel the Elder, Cranach & Velásquez as well as decorative art, military & hunting paraphernalia, musical instruments, and original manuscripts and early prints of Beethoven & Mozart.
The Lobkowicz Palace apparently is off-the-route of the usual herds of tourists. We visited the Palace & Museum for an afternoon concert in July. The Lobkowicz concert hall is impressive with 17th-century painted stucco ceilings.
A trio of members of the Czech Philharmonic Orchestra on piano, flute & viola performed music-for-the-millions. Charpentier ‘Te Deum’, Vivaldi ‘Allegro from Four Seasons’, Lobkowicz ‘Suite in C’, Mozart ‘Turkish Mars’, Gluck ‘Pizzicato’, Beethoven ‘For Elise’, Benda ‘Grave & Pièce for Flute solo’, Bizet ‘Carmen & Fantasie’, Dvořák ‘Valse’, Smetana ‘Moldau, Debussy ‘Girl with the flaxen hair’ & ‘Dance bohémienne, Mozart ‘Vivat Bacchus’.
The concert started at 1 3:00 and took 60 min. We found the musicians professional and playing very well. The concert was painfully empty. The audience are mainly tourists. Recommended.

I wasn’t really sure what to expect from this classic concert, having never been to one before, but it was absolutely amazing. The hour went so fast. All three musicians were very talented, but the piano player (Martina) was sensational. She was captivating to watch. I wish this lasted longer. Excellent price for what you get and it is in a beautiful setting. Would highly recommend this, it was my favourite thing from our whole Prague trip.

The setting for these concerts i lovely, and the musicians are obviously very talented. I didn't enjoy the program, however, a collection of popular classical music rearranged for piano, flute, and viola. Selections included Vivaldi's Four Seasons, Bizet's Carmen Suite, and (of course) Fur Elise--the selections for the program made no sense other than to appeal to the sensibilities of tourists who only experience classical music through luxury car commercials. The arrangements were very good, but I'm unsure why they were arranged for a piano, flute, and viola. I was disappointed with the musical selections, especially since there are so many Czech composers to highlight! That said, the highlight of the program for me was an arrangement of Smetana's Vltava for solo piano, played exquisitely by the pianist (whose name wasn't printed in the program). I understand the need to bring in tourists who don't necessarily have a background or interest in classical music, but I would have loved to have seen more balance between appealing to the common man and showcasing all that classical Czech composers have to offer. Still, I don't regret the purchase of tickets and recommend the experience for the quality of the performers and the venue. If I had to do it over again, I would have bought the more expensive seats--the sound quality was fine and probably even better closer to the back. But maybe in the front seats we wouldn't have had to sit next to and behind people who were on their phones and/or talking the whole time.

Unlike the promotional photos, we had 1 piano 1 flute and 1viola. That may have been ok but the viola and piano were not tuned. The pianist however was enthusiastically intense.

Although it was difficult at first to locate the Palace: go through security on the left of the gates and walk almost to the end of the Castle complex. We thoroughly enjoyed the experience, the setting is beautiful and it feels an intimate event, as the audience is quite small. I would recommend this if you would like to relax, in a peaceful setting with lovely music.

Je suis surprise des commentaires négatifs que j’ai pu lire, pour ma part, bien que je ne sois pas une experte en musique classique j’ai adoré. Mon conjoint qui était réticent à lui aussi été conquis, je recommande vraiment de ne pas louper ce concert qui en plus se déroule dans un lieu magnifique, de plus j’ai trouvé le rapport qualité prix excellent.
