Great way to learn about other areas of Prague

Great tour to not only learn about street art around Prague but to also learn about some really neat neighborhoods outside of the old city. If you’re in Prague for several days, would recommend doing this tour the first or second day as you’ll learn about some great places to go back to and spend more time. Tom was a great guide, providing a lot of information on what it’s like to live as a local in Prague today.

Learn and Support Local

If you want to get away from the tourist circus that is the city centre of Prague this is for you! We were lead around by the knowledgeable Thomas who is a born and bred Praguer. You’ll learn a little bit about Prague and Czechia’s recent history and it’s impact on the Czech of today and on it’s residents. However the main focus of the tour is Prague’s street art and the scene around the art as well as a taste of the real city outside the centre. Cannot recommend enough. Having did a tourist centric day the day prior this was a welcome relief and actually felt that I’d learned something about contemporary Prague. Left feeling very inspired. You’ll also be supporting a local business so just book it next time you’re in Prague!

If you like walking and learning about "What'sup"

It was my partners and I first trip to Prague and we were recommended the Alternative Tour. I have to say the tour was the best city excursion I have ever been on. We visited places that we would not ordinarily choose ourselves as tourists and we were able to get a better understanding of the sub culture of the city. We were given an in depth history of each particular site and how it relates to present day Prague which gave us perspective on what is general local impression on the scene. Which I thought was brillant. We used the trams and metro to visit some of the sites. This was also a huge bonus as what got to visit more places in different areas and learnt how easy and convenient it is to get around the city which was really beneficial for the rest of our holiday. We were given the option to try the local food and of course beer as well as some cool vegan and vegetarian options. There was enough rest stops and yet the tour was carried out at a relatively speedy pace, the organisation of time was good. If you like walking and learning about "What'sup" this tour is for you. Thank you Tomas! Looking forward to attending the graffiti workshop next time we are back!

Sehr erlebenswert- man kommt aus dem touristischem Gewimmel heraus und erlebt und hört auch Zeitgenössisches und Geschichtliches aus der Perspektive Einheimischer. Allerdings war das Ganze Graffitilastiger als vorgestellt.

An excellent guide to Prague’s contemporary culture

Highly recommend this tour, the guide Thomas was excellent & shared very interesting information on life in contemporary Prague. The locations were fascinating and reveal aspects of cultural life in prague that are hidden from the mainstream tourist experience. Anyone with an interest in art, architecture, politics, music and urban life will find this tour very worthwhile.

Charming Prague is more than Charlie Bridge

This tour is a "must-do" for Prague, if you want to see more than famous Charlie Bridge and the Prague Castle, which is in fact very touristical. Our guide showed our small group of seven people from 4 continents "his" impressive Prague beyond the crowded Old Town. I have to say: Our very communicative guide not only showed us extraordinary locations, creative projects and fine street art, he also knowed the interesting background stories behind everything. His English was very well and he answered every question we had with great knowledge and patience. In addition he gave us many tipps where we could find interesting locations on our own and showed us where the real Prague lifestyle takes place. Therefore I can recommend this "Alternative Prague Tour" 100 %.

Amazing walking tour! It was very interesting to learn about the history of Prague and the guide was so knowledgeable you could ask him any question. I was not only able to see some really eye catching art but also got to learn about the artist behind the work and what it represents. If you are able I would recommend you to go on this tour early on in your Prague trip! You’ll receive so many recommendations for cafes, restaurants and bars/clubs that you otherwise would definitely miss

Cool art tour!

Fantastic experience led by Sunni, a successful street artist. The tour included many street murals with its contemporary context. She described Prague’s support for artists including very cool development sites such as a former military barracks which is being repurposed into a school and artist’ studios. Prague isn’t just about history but a vibrant local art scene! Sunni took us to a urban cool bar to spend some time with us after the tour!

Get to know Prague through a local perspective

Do this tour your first day as you are going to want to go back to the galleries and hangouts.

This was a great experience. Our guide, the artist Sany, took us off the touristy path into Prague as the locals enjoy it.
We got to see gems of both chill hangout spots and street art. She told us about growing up post soviet times and about the ongoing gentrification of former working class communities. Sany has been in the global street art community for about two decades so her knowledge is valuable and really interesting.
