Very poor communication, massive que for lift near the end of the tour, no staff updated on what was happening.
Lift was a tiny metal box. Where you are crammed in with complete strangers felt like was getting crushed, very dangerous and scary. Completely spoilt the tour.

Thank you for your feedback. We're truly sorry to hear that your experience didn't meet expectations. Our coordinators providing all of the informations before entering the Museum, but if you didn't received any information than we apologize for this situation as it is not what we usually provide. Please remember that the metal box lift is something that we cannot change and it is included in our tour description, and the specific design was made for safety and that was created to get faster outside, but there was an option to buy a private tour with private lift but the cost would be around 3000pln not 300pln for whole private experience.

Amazing trip, stunning sights, the vastness of the mine was astounding. Iona looked after us and gave clear instructions. There was a LOT of walking, not just the 800 steps down.
Shame the coach had heating blaring out in 30 degree heat as it was broken. Also expected transport back to the hotel as was booked but we got dropped off.

The Wieliczka Salt Mine is one of the highlights of visiting Krakow. The Tour Guides could benefit from having microphones, though, as those at the back of the groups may struggle to hear. Alona (I think that's how it's spelt) our host on the bus transport was lovely, clear and concise with the itinerary. An awesome half day trip if you're in Krakow!

Excellent trip. Worked well from the pick up to the drop off. Really well organised. Lots of steps down & around 10k steps but thankfully a lift at the end back to the surface. Amazing construction, some very impressive caverns all enhanced by a very good and amusing guide, Patrycza I think. She did a great job.

A spectacular view, a unique underground path. Sure there are quite a few downhill steps (800) that make your head spin because they go down circularly, but then the show is worth it. Salons, human-sized reconstructions of characters and animals used for excavation. A UNIQUE show. Really highly recommendable. (Ascent with modern and large lifts). Tour made with GetYourGuide, very professional and efficient that I absolutely Recommendation. Guide on the bus in Italian. The Guide on site then very kind accompanied us to the coach personally as the ascent with the elevators is quite different from the bus parking lots. Beautiful tour.

This was booked on the morning of the trip as Schindlers factory was closed and we heard a lot of good things about it.
It was good and interesting but it did not meet expectations and felt that it was overhyped and a bit overpriced.

My boyfriend and I were looking forward to seeing the salt mine. We bought a guided tour in English. The group we followed was 40 people, which meant that the vast majority could not hear the guide, as many of the passages are narrow, which is why it was far from the guide to the rearest participants. The guide recognized that the group was too big. When we subsequently complained, the staff pulled the information just on their shoulders. Super unfortunate experience and a tourist trap without equal.

Please remember that there is always an option to have a private guided tour in Salt Mine but it would cost you around 4000PLN for private guide in Salt Mine. I hope despite this thing you still loved your tour with Discover Cracow!

Hi I have a group of 16 persons visiting the Salt Mines in April 2024. One or two people have walking disabilities and can not walk too far. How do they access the Salt Mines? Do they get to see all of the sites or some only?

Sorry for the delay. I am currently traveling. I'm not sure if they will see all of the sites, but I'm relatively sure they will see the best ones. I believe there is a special elevator that can be used to go down into the mine. You should check with them in case you need to make special arrangements. There is A LOT of walking and the ground can be uneven. There a a few places to sit, but not many.

I am just recovering from a stress fracture in my foot. I am completely mobile but am moving a little slower than usual. I can do steps but at a slower pace. With the aid of a walking stick I think I should be fine. Are the steps steep? Are they all at one time or broken up into segments?

Hi, sorry for the delay.
I agree with the other answers and would wait until it has healed fully.
I have a little discomfort in my right ankle from an old injury done many years ago and the day after the visit it was a little sore.
To be safe I’d wait as the guides don’t hang about.
We were keeping a couple in there early 70’s company as they were having a little trouble keeping up with the fast pace of the guide in our group.

Hi. I am sorry. I don’t know about the luggage there as we didn’t take any.
You can queue for tickets when you arrive. No need to prebook. English tours are frequent: almost every 30 minutes.
We had to wait 20 minutes for our Uber on the way back and there was traffic, so be aware.

You CANNOT go down in the lift. Definitely only lift to go back up. Hundreds of steps down and then walking a few miles around the mine. Need to be relatively fit.
