Really good trip. It was a long day but worth doing both together. Tour guides were friendly and informative. Both had really good english. We were picked up exactly on time in the morning, no waiting around through day day either.

We were texted our pick up time the night before and were picked up on time from our air bnb. Mini bus was comfortable and got us from A to B with no issues. The actual trips were incredible and a must for anyone visiting the area. Our only issue was the bus driver who barely spoke to us and came across like he really didn’t want to be there. Despite this I would still recommend this tour!

We booked this trip and was a little worried about the comments of it being such a long day but we needn’t have worried. Pick up time was confirmed the day prior to our trip and we were picked up at 7.30am promptly and taken to a larger bus of about 30 people by our Poland Active guide Michael who was great! We got to Auschwitz at about 9.30 and our tour commenced with our Auschwitz tour guide and a headset. The tour of Auschwitz and Birkenau took until about 1.30pm and was incredibly informative, thought provoking and very moving - a definite MUST visit if you are in Kraków/ Poland. We then travelled for a good hour to the salt mines and had been booked in to a nearby restaurant by our guide. We had an hour to order food at the restaurant and was then walked across to the Saltmines at about 4pm. Again our tour was exceptional and the guide Marek was very comical and a fun guide which lightened the afternoon. The salt mines are stunning and again a MUST see if in Kraków. I’m so glad we decided to do both tours in one day as we were only in Kraków for 3 nights. The saltmine tour finished at 6pm and we were dropped at our hotel at 6.30pm. My Fitbit said in excess of 23,000 steps but we freshened up once at the hotel and were able to go out afterwards so not exhausting just a full day. If you’re short of time I would definitely book this trip. Poland Active thank you very much for a well organised day!

A very interesting day, and a tour that I would thoroughly recommend. The trip through Auschwitz is without surprise, thought-provoking and chilling at the same time. Everybody needs to experience this in hopes of understanding the atrocities that occurred.
As for the salt mine to her, I didn’t know what to expect but I’m so happy that I experienced it. It was absolutely captivating and interesting. Considering the mine is hundreds of years old and only imagining life when the mind started in the 1600s, one can’t come away without being suitably impressed.
Both of these sites are an absolute must see if you are in the Kraków area.

I wasn’t sure what to expect but knew we needed to visit Auschwitz to pay our respects and see what we have read about first hand. I would definitely recommend a tour (we usually don’t, but it was the best way to experience both Auschwitz and Birkenau). A comfortable bus, a very knowledgeable tour guide who shared her knowledge in a respectful, yet informative way. The tour of Auschwitz/Birkenau was very well organised with plenty of time to see everything balanced with ample breaks. Lunch was less so. Although the guide had phoned ahead to let the recommended restaurant know we were arriving, I don’t think they had enough staff to cope and we waited ages to eat, then barely had time to finish our meal before having to go to the salt mine. However the food was good. The salt mine was a very interesting tour but after the camps, we perhaps didn’t appreciate it as much as if we’d visited it separately. However if you only have a short time in Kraków, this tour is definitely worth doing, I’d just suggest eating somewhere else - we discovered other options in Wieliczka.

The Auschwitz-Birkenau tour was eye opening and worth visiting to see the scale of it and remember, tour guide Martin is very good and knowledge and friendly. The driver was friendly and got us to both locations on time and a pack lunch was included. The salt mines was okay, the guided tour could have been better and given us couple of minutes in each section to take photos and take it in, the guide just felt rushed and wasn't able to take photos in all areas. If able to do without a guide would have preferred it so could take photos and enjoy it more.

Attended both on same day communication throughout the whole process from booking to the end of the day was excellent we were kept well informed at all stages of the process. Our driver Mathew was very pleasant chatty and engaged with everyone he picked up a very emotional trip to the Camp and very thought provoking take plenty of tissues and be prepared for lots of walking highly recommend we received a very professional service as always when booking with Viator

Hi, I’m planing to go on December 2nd with my 2 teenagers, to do both activities same day, auschwitz and salt mine, we haven’t hold the hotel but will be in center. The departure time early it’s 7 am isn’t it ? And coming back what time ? Regards

The company I used was called Poland active but we did the saltmines aswell. It was very good value for money as they paid for all travel ( a nice air conditioned coach and entrance fees ect). It was a little rushed but would recommend if you want lots to do and it’s a good way to make the most of your trip. We were picked up at around 7.20am and got back for about 5 ish I believe !
