An interesting visit to this Synagogue. Short queue to buy tickets but all very well organised with guides leading groups in various languages. We had a group tour and could hear and understand all our guide told us. He explained why this Synagogue was built in the style of a CofE church. At the end of the tour we could then walk around on our own and spend time looking in more detail at the building.

Più grande Sinahoga europea e seconda al mondo, a questa si sono ispirati per la costruzione di quella di New York. Si comprano i biglietti sul sito che hanno validità di un mese ma senza possibilità di scegliere la data. Una volta entrati ci si siede nella Sinagoga in prossimità della bandiera del paese di appartenenza e si aspetta la guida, che spiega la Grande sinagoga, il cimitero esterno, il monumento e la piccola e nuova Sinagoga. La comunità non è ortodossa ne askenazita o sedar dita ma Neologa che personalmente non avevo mai sentito. La visita necessità di un paio di ore.

There were many tours in many languanges, which you could choose. (English, Hungarian, Italian, Spanish etc.) Our Hungarian guide was kind and she experinced a lot for sure, she knew everything, what we asked. The guide tells you everything, there are 2 more exhibitions, which you can visit, those are really interesting too. I reccomend it for those, who know some things about Jewish people and their history.

Absolutely amazing! We really lucked out with tour guides as all the ones we had throughout our trip to Budapest were fantastic. Unfortunately I can’t remember the tour guides name but he did the English tour and it was packed with information about the Synagogue, the gardens and memorial, the surrounding area of the Jewish Quarter, and the Jewish community as well. He was so funny and charismatic and made it very personal which is lovely. The tour lasted around an hour and was interactive (him asking questions and involving the group) and it was clear he knew what he was talking about. The Synagogue itself is absolutely stunning and so unique.
We weren’t planning on getting a tour originally but at no extra cost it seemed silly not to. It soon became apparent we would’ve been lost without the tour because there is so much history and information surrounding the Synagogue that we would’ve missed without it. Highly recommend going!

Excellent, emotional visit with a group guide who gave a personal account of Jewish life and a factual account of the history of this synagogue and the tragedies it witnessed as part of the Budapest ghetto. The synagogue has been restored fantastically and the remembrance park an museum add to the experience. All visitors to Budapest should visit this place of worship, of history , of courage and if tragedy. As the guide said a few times, “we must never forget”.

Grande,suggestiva e affollata..sicurezza all' ingresso..Abbiamo comprato biglietto in Italia,con Salta la Fila.All' interno ci sono bandiere che rappresentano la lingua della spiegazione.E' la più grande Sinagoga europea e seconda al mondo...capienza di 3000 persone circa,situata nella zona di Pest.All' interno di questo sito,il Tempio degli Eroi,il cimitero,il Monumentale e il Museo ebraico....Consigliatissima la visita
