Our guide Rosie was very knowledgeable and personable. She hit all of the high points. Don't skip the trip up to the dome to get spectacular views of the city. One hour was the perfect duration. My wife and I really enjoyed ourselves.

The tour operator Adam was able to change our time from 3pm to 11am as our cruise vessel was leaving at 1.30pm. I am so very grateful we did not miss our tour of St. Stephens Basilica in Budapest. Our guide Julia gave us the ultimate historic tour experience. By the end of the tour, we had a good understanding of the history of the Hungarian people. Coming from New Zealand for us, it was our moment in time. Thank you from Nikki & Jim, Judy & Raymond

Meeting location was not clearly
communicated. Other members of the tour had the same problem. Wandered around looking for the guide for 10 minutes. Turns out they were meeting by the ticket office.

A must see. Buy tickets in advance. Note that there weren’t any English tour pamphlets left and only some of the signs in the church were in English. For people with mobility issues, ask for information on how to get in the basilica. When you walk out of the office, head to the right. The church is on your left. A person will be standing at a door on the side of the church. They will bring you around to the back where everything is accessible, including washrooms.

The tour guide did not show up. Tour was supposed to start at 1pm. I messaged several times and did not hear back until 1;18pm at which point I had already bought my own admission. Very disappointed.

Dear Sarah,
We confirm that the tour guide was at the meeting point in time with a visible sign. There were other customers on the same tour who found her without any problem. After you contacted us, we immediately responded to you and asked where exactly you were waiting. From your following message it became evident though that you mixed us up with a different tour with a tour guide called Manuel. That is not our tour and not our tour guide! We are also very sorry that you lost our guided tour, and after your complaint we agreed to a full refund which was immediately issued for you. We think that your review was sent to the wrong place as we were mixed up with a different tour and different meeting point where you were probably waiting.

The church was beautiful. They charge for admission but not outrageous. There is no audio and they say there’s an App but Wifi in the church is weak. It is a stately building and took a lot of effort to complete but is a beautiful Christian church in a once communist controlled country. It is worth the add on of the Treasury and Tower options. But you are on your own. No guides, no groups, and the pamphlets were lacking any meaningful history. One wonders why they charge, when most basilicas with limited information are free, with donations accepted. The added options require quite a bit of walking up stairs and the elevators and small with long lines waiting. Worth seeing, but tacky to make a tourist trap of a church. For a Catholic of faith, it is really embarrassing and for a place of worship to turned into circus like atmosphere. If you are going to charge, at least have an audio guide like most museums or live group guides and the fee would be understood, even though it is totally out of protocol for a church of the Catholic faith to do this. St. Peter would find a way to turn himself right side up under St. Peter’s square if he knew they were doing this. They certainly don’t do this in the Vatican at St. Peter’s Square and St. Peter’s Basilica.

Magnificent building. Don't hesitate to buy a ticket for access to the circular terrace. You can go up there on foot (spiral staircase approx. 200 steps) or by elevator. Very nice view from the top. We can see in particular the interior structure of the dome (metal/wood). For those who are afraid of heights it may be a little tricky. One downside: the noise made by certain groups of tourists who speak loudly without any respect for the tranquility that this place should provide.
