We had a wonderful tour with Armands. Experiencing the sunrise at the Hill of Crosses really is special and we didn't regret booking the trip. Going there early in the morning also means that you have the place to yourself, meaning no other people in the photos you take ;)
Armands is a fascinating person and had lots of interesting stories to tell. He's also a very good driver and we felt safe with him, which isn't the least important feature when you spend four hours in the car.

I had an amazing time exploring the beautiful place with Krista. She made my trip very comfortable and gave lots of information about the place and also about Latvia and Lithuania. I would highly recommend booking this trip.

Do this tour - just DO it! Amazing experience to see the sun rise from the misty fields surrounding the hill and start colouring the enormous collection of crosses in all shapes and sizes! You do definately not need to be a religious person to be stunned by the sight. Sadly/luckily it seems to be a well kept secret that sunrise is the time to go as I was the only person at the sight for the hour I stayed there. The tour was very professionally organized and the driver/guide so friendly and interesting. I really recommend this tour warmly!

The best half day trip from Riga, a must do.
I booked this tour only about a week before my trip and immediately after I got a response from the tour operatir confirming my booking and with instructions about pick up location and timing, very professional and welcoming.
I got picked up at the exact time i was promised and we got on the road right away with a stop for coffee and bathroom on the way. We got to the hill of crosses 15 minutes before sunrise and got enough time to get on the perfect spot to catch the sunrise, what a magical moment, we were the only ones at the location, how lucky.
The hill of crosses itself is beautiful and mystical, hard to describe the energy but totally worth the trip.
The road is only about 100 kilometers and you will be there in a heartbeat, the tour operator is full of useful and interesting information and will make the trip extremely memorable, I highly recommend it.

To go to the Hill of Cross is an amazing experience. The place is outstanding and so mysterious with that small hill and so many crosses of all sizes, colours and formats.
Going with Krysta Jansone is even more amazing, she is so nice, with so many history knowledge that we travel to and back you forgot time and you will be more than satisfied to had booked with her.
Profisionalism and sympathy !

If you are staying in Riga, it is worth your time to also visit the Hill of Crosses. Maybe an early morning trip is not your style, but seeing this site in quiet somber without crowds will make you fully appreciate its reverence. I also highly recommend Amber tours as they were so quick in confirming details. Our guide was very warm and knowledgeable, and therefore I think you will appreciate both the journey and also the destination.

I would like to know if I would be able to purchase a cross during or after visitation of the Hill of Crosses at sunrise.
I read something about this I believe in the description of another tour you're offering to the Hill of Crosses.
