It was a warm sunny day. Everything was well cared for and clean. Loved the restaurant and Martha Washington and George's valet walking around staying in character with historical information.

A great, all-day experience. Learning about the culture, set in a time without internet, cell phones and the other things we have today... the trip excites the senses with spectacular views, authentic replicas and storyboards that explain the buildings and their significance in the life of one of our founding fathers.

The tour guide was prompt and friendly. However the tour did not deliver as promised. The tour description promised tour of Mt Vernon and a visit to Christ Church in Alexandria. We did not stop at Christ Church. The guide first said they had something going on. Later when we asked again, he said they were charging! We paid enough for the tour to cover that. Finally he said COVID Closed it. I looked at their website and the church was open and giving tours. Our guide drove by Washington’s townhouse and said that was our replacement. Your advertisement should not list this stop if you can’t deliver it. If the reason was COVID, that has been going on for 1 1/2 years. Should be a notation on your website.

Rated 1 out of a 5 for their lack of following general Covid protocol.
The driver never asked fellow travelers to put masks on and he himself was sick, coughing & sneezing and took his mask off once he started driving. He said ‘I don’t have Covid because I’m vaccinated’ and “if you’re worried about Delta wear your masks.”
You need to know this is a 14 passenger van and you are in close quarters with others. The driver was coughing & sneezing throughout the whole ride to Mount Vernon with his mask on his chin. In my opinion, the driver should not have reported to work.
This tour was booked for us by my husband’s travel company as an award trip. Once we arrived at Mount Vernon we phoned the travel company and let them know we would be returning to DC by Uber.
The Uber was surprising inexpensive and a much better option for our party of three, rather than this DC to Mount Vernon van shuttle.
In the end taking the Uber gave us more time to explore Mount Vernon and the education center. (There is so much to see and do at Mount Vernon.) If we had taken the van shuttle we had to meet our driver at 3pm, rather we stayed till 4:45pm and continued to explore and learn.

The driver in Question is fully vaccinated and had just taken a booster shot the day before,he was tested when he reported for work and there was no symptoms,hence he was allowed to work.We were in constant discussion with the travel agent,we offered a personal ride /Uber which the customer refused and the travel agent confirmed as well that they will find their way back to DC.
Our company follows Covid-19’s protocol and the safety of of our customers is Number 1.

Jokes made by the tour guide were totally inappropriate. Mt. Vernon was awesome, but you need more time. My suggestion is to just make your own way there by transit or Uber and have more time. It also said it included a tour of the church and it did not. They need to update their listing.

The guide was entertaining and yet informative Good knowledge of the subject.He kept it moving and engaging while understanding it was a vacation for the guests He had a nice balance of informing without lecturing .It seemed a natural conversation

i enjoyed my day tour in Mount Vernon. Every traveler going to Washington must see Mount Vernon. It was educational and a wonderful place to see the past history of one of the richest man of the United States Of America. It was a vast estate and a day tour is enough.

The tour of Mount Vernon itself is essentially self guided. In the “Mansion”, as you enter each room, staff/volunteers of Mount Vernon Ladies Association of the Union explain specific information about the history etc.
Trip advisor basically takes you to the site and take you back. The driver was friendly and informative.
But trying to contact the tour operator by calling their telephone number or by email repeatedly was unsuccessful. They did not return telephone calls and did not reply to email about what time the driver will pick us from the hotel etc.
Eventually, I contacted Viator (through whom we made the booking) who did get in touch with tour operator and got us the information we needed.
