I can’t think of a better way to tour DC. 3 kids ages 9, 11, 13 - all soaked up the sights, sounds, history and symbolism highlighted by a knowledgeable and passionate guide. This was a fantastic introduction to our capital.

Yay! Your kids were awesome and it is always a great joy for me to connect with my guests of all ages and help connect the past to the present. I'm so glad you enjoyed your ride and I hope the rest of your visit is awesome.

We did this tour with two teenage kids (18 and 15yo) and all loved it. Jeff is a great storyteller, so knowledgeable, and created a great route for us to hit all the monuments. We were able to start at our hotel and end a different location so we could visit a museum afterward. I also messaged Jeff ahead to try and see cherry blossoms and he had found a place that had started blooming for us to visit.
He brought water for all and snacks. He also helped take photos at all the sites and airdropped them to us at the end.
This is not a strenuous ride since majority is flat. You have to bike around crowds in some parts. We did it our first full day in DC which was nice to get our bearings.
We have recommended this tour to even our local DC friends because I bet they will learn something from Jeff they didn’t know.
Can’t say enough great things about this tour.

Thanks Anita for your wonderful review - I'm so glad you enjoyed your time biking around DC. Yes - DC is quite flat and an easy ride and as you noted, the crowds we get at times like now with the cherry blossoms are the trickiest part. But with a little patience, we can always slide through like a breeze between the blossoms ;-) Thank you!

This is the closest one can get to a real life Magic School Bus experience...but with bikes, and a fabulous guide named Jeff. The bikes were ready when we met him outside of our hotel. He ensured proper bike "fit" was accomplished and was prepared for the weather with some extras we might need-he had anticipated needs. The bikes themselves were well-chosen with comfortable seats and shocks-what a great way to see the city! This was our first time touring the city, and we hit the usual touristy highlights (Washington Monument Jefferson, etc...). With each stop, Jeff took great pictures of us despite the crowds, and we were able to get close. One of our favorite aspects of Jeff's approach was to talk about lesser known DC facts (to us, at least). Our favorite was his talk about Montgomery Meigs. It was clear Jeff was well-read in a manner that goes beyond superficial historical knowledge of the area. He seems to have a genuine love and care for what makes this historically and important to all kinds of people. We will most certainly use him again for a more focused tour in the future.

I always strive to do this for all my guests - from some of the lesser known history to trying to capture your time in DC with some good photos - I want my guests to have it all. I look forward to our next adventure cause there is SOOOO much more!

Jeff was brilliant. Great communication before our trip (so much better than booking with a big company as often get incorrect or vague information).
We had a really good afternoon biking all over DC which everyone enjoyed. Jeff has in-depth knowledge and background on the city and everyone enjoyed his bringing the sights and monuments to life with their stories and histories.
He is also very safe which is great while biking around a city. I’d highly recommend this tour - do it early in your trip so you get orientated for your stay and then can leisurely spend time in all the museums.

This was our favorite activity during our time in DC. Jeff met us at our hotel and had great equipment. The route was perfect - we hit everything we expected and more. His narrative was spot on - educational and age appropriate. Not only is he an excellent guide, he is a great photographer! I’m usually the one taking the pictures and now I have evidence I was on the trip.

Amazing! Highlight of our trip! We had a blast and learned so much. Jeff managed to engage our ten-yr-old son for four hours — an extraordinary feat. Communication with Jeff before the trip was seamless, and the bikes were comfortable and well-maintained. My husband and I had high expectations, and Jeff surpassed them! Worth every penny for a special day in DC.

Jeff was awesome! This was our family’s first trip to DC together and in one morning, Jeff was able to show us so many of the highlights of Washington DC. He was incredibly knowledgeable and told us so many interesting stories as we stopped at each site. We would highly recommend families to take this bike tour!

Excellent experience from the initial booking to the end of the bike tour. Jeff was responsive to all my questions and emails (and I had several). Very flexible with our need to change tour date due to the weather. Met us on time at our hotel and reviewed the route asking if there was anything specific we wanted to see and incorporated our requests into the tour. On the tour he was VERY knowledgeable of the history and facts about the monuments and sites in DC. Would definitely book again! In fact we are already looking at other tours they provide!

Jeff is an amazing cyclist, tour guide, and historian. You can't go wrong with booking a tour with DC Cycling Concierge. Our family of 4, including kids ages 8 and 5 thoroughly enjoyed our custom ride on the National Mall. While our family lives in DC, we saw our hometown through a new lens thanks to Jeff and his great facts and stories. The kids still talk about this great family activity.

We had a beautiful 5 hrs tour with Jeff, he’s very passionate and deeply experienced! Jeff helped us a lot in knowing more of Washington history and gave us very useful tips.
He’s the man for a funny bike tour.

I saw a review where it mentioned that the bikes were dropped off at the hotel. Does that mean you have to stay in a hotel in downtown DC? We are planning to stay in Alexandria and then coming to DC to do the tour, is that an available option?

We drove in from Annapolis and met the owner at the bike shop where we rented the bikes. Very convenient to the Mall, The Smithsonian and all the monuments. He is super accommodating!
