Our tour guide Barry from Adventure DC tricycle tours was very helpful from the planning of the tour to the tour execution. He also moved up our tour by a few hours so we could miss the afternoon forecasted rain. We have two tweens (10&12) and we picked the SCOOTER TOUR. They LOVED it. In three hours we got checked out on our scooters to make sure everyone was comfortable riding, stopped to load up our drink holders with water, and travelled the entire mall stopping to see the Washington Monument, White House (with surprise Presidential take off from the south lawn in Marine One), Jefferson Memorial, Lincoln Memorial, MLK Memorial, Korean War Memorial, WWII Memorial, and the Capitol. The rain started coming down in the last 15 minutes and Barry had his team ready with a van to pick up the scooters right in front of our hotel so we didn’t have to walk back in the rain. He shared some surprise gifts with our kids, took amazing family photos of us and was so knowledgeable. What a gem! Our kids asked to go again tomorrow. That is high praise. Take a tour with Barry and it will be the highlight of any family trip to D.C.

Wow, thank you for such a detailed and wonderful review! I'm thrilled to hear that your family, especially your tweens, had such a fantastic time on the scooter tour. I'm glad we could adjust the timing to avoid the rain and that the tour became a highlight of your trip. The surprise Presidential takeoff was a special bonus! It's great to know the kids enjoyed it so much that they wanted to go again—that's the best compliment I could ask for. We went on the scooter tour with Barry, and had such a good time! I think our total party was like 5-6 people.
We met at the rental shop first, which is conveniently located by this quiet alley, where everyone got to practice riding the scooters.
It was nice making friends with the other riders too. Barry is a wonderful host and navigator. Super knowledgeable and fun!
10/10 would recommend. I know there are a bunch of other tours to try (which I honestly haven't). But I don't know.. I think I'm sold. I will be doing the next one with Barry again.

My daughters and I went on a scooter tour with Barry and we had an amazing experience! He was very flexible with our planning and timing and was accommodating with what we wanted to see. Barry is very cheerful and really knowledgeable about all things DC. He also had some fun kid-friendly stops and even had little gift items for my kids to take home. I highly recommend Barry and this tour!

Barry at Adventure DC Tours was absolutely incredible to work with! I was actually about to book with another company the day before, but he provided such excellence in contacting me and providing additional information and options to fit within our budget and day that I knew we had to go with this company.
When we arrived, the rest of the crew was just as great! They had planned on our arrival and worked with us until we felt confident operating the sit-down scooters and navigating the area.
By the way - SIT DOWN SCOOTERS ARE THE WAY TO GOOOOOO if touring the National Mall!
Once we met up with Barry he was super charismatic and had our three kids laughing right away! (he even had goodies for them, but I'll keep what is was a secret ;)
He also has a secret power - photography!
All in all I would highly recommend this company! Give it a go - and trust that you won't be disappointed with your sit down scooter decision too!!
