The trip started late while a van drove around town trying to find additional clients/victims. We were dropped at a dock with old breaking, paint-chipped benches to wait. We toured the Mayan Ruins, but the River and Manatee Watch tour was cancelled. They said it was cancelled because the water was rough, but there were several boats that we passed on the river that were touring. We chose to do a small group tour instead of the cruise tour and that was a bad decision. This tour group is very unorganized, ill-prepared, and not the experience that we wanted. We were offered a rum tour as a substitute, but no refund or partial refund was available. The other couple with us only booked the Mayan Ruins and paid less than half of what we paid and had the same tour.

Absolutely amazing trip. Guides were very knowledgeable, boat ride was awesome, saw a ton of animals. The ruins were amazing! Very well kept and just cool!

What a fab trip from P and O Ventura
Everything went smooth with a great tour guide, lots of info and a good look at Belize
The visit to Altan Ha was brill with plenty of time to clamber up temples etc and then lunch and a fabtetric river ride down river and back to the port.
Fast going for sure as we crammed lots in but the Old girl was thrilled to see monkeys, Salties and 6 manatee.
Everything went smooth with a great tour guide, lots of info and a good look at Belize

Never got to take it. The tour was canceled the previous day so they asked if I could come back the following day. I said yes and came back the next day,. The tour was canceled again. I asked when it was scheduled again. They did not know and could not assure me the tour would proceed even If I booked again. I was offered another tour which I took(no real choice). Not what I wanted but the guide and boat captain made it interesting, informativeand enjoyable. Saved the experience fom being completely terrible. Still have to find another day and an Altun Ha Mayan Ruins tour.

When we booked this tour we were informed it was wheelchair accessible. NOT
You have to somehow get into a little boat, fishing boat size, bobbing up and down in the Caribbean Sea. You have to go across the sea to get to the river. We had to leave three people behind due to the ability to get into the boat.
The boat ride down the river was interesting we did see a lot of wildlife
Then we transferred to a van. The driver was reckless. Driving 70 miles an hour weaving in and out of traffic, down very unsafe roads. It was like being on a 45 minute roller coaster ride from hell
I seriously considered finding another way back from the ruins.
It will be a tour I will never forget, but not for the right reasons
Our people that got left behind did not get a refund. Actually when asked at the ruins if they were brought by bus, the guide actually did not realize they were not on the tour. Very unprofessional they did lot even keep count

I would not even consider using this tour company again if it were free. After waiting over an hour for our tour to start, we were told that not enough people signed up for the tour, and they were canceling it. Many excuses were given while we waited that hour for the tour. We were led on by Splash Wave while they tried to get more people to sign up. In the end, we wasted over an hour in port, and had to scramble to find something else to do. Extremely dishonest and untrustworthy company!

Last week we were in Belize City and took the Altun Ha and River Wallace tour. Chris was our guide. As we reflected on our week long cruise, we couldn’t stop talking about how wonderful Chris made our excursion. His knowledge, care, and compassion made our tour very special.
I will highly recommend Splash Wave Tours to others and specially mention that Chris is the best guide ever.

Due to a late arrival by our cruise ship, we missed the departing time for our originally scheduled tour. However, the tour guide (Chris) from Splash Wave tours that we found was more than willing to help us out. They honored the reservation and substituted the Altun Ha tour instead. We ended up with one other couple and had a great time. Chris even made arrangements for a ride down the river, that wasn't part of the original tour. He went above and beyond the call of duty. We had a great time! I would definitely recommend Splash Wave Tours to any one visiting Belize

This company was GREAT. Attention to detail. We scheduled a tour and due some late night parting everyone (other passengers) cancelled at the last minute but the company ended up keeping the tour just for us which was AMAZING because it was private and they tailored it to the tow of us.
We have a nice AC van and because people cancelled late we missed the river portion so they offered us a bamboo sanctuary and lunch as part of our tour.
The ruins were GREAT! Only one other person was there so if REALLY felt like a private tour. No rude tourist in our pictures which was GREAT! WE were offered cold water which was needed because it was so hot.
The bamboo sanctuary was so nice and we got to feed the holler monkey's and ask as many questions as we wanted. Royce was very nice and knowledgeable about the monkey's and even showed us different plants around the sanctuary and we got to taste some bukut which is a seed pod that is high in iron.
I would for sure book with them again for all our tours.

Really enjoyed this trip out here. So cool to see the ruins and be able to walk on them and learn and experience. Maybe the only downside is the size of the ruins are pretty small compared to the bigger ones out West (although they are still 50 feet high at least). That said Altun Ha is a much shorter drive and can be connected with another activity (we did the baboon sanctuary, but you could zip lining or cave tubing..).

Is there much uphill walking? I have asthma and get puffed if doing lots of stairs so wondered if you have lots of uphill walking to do to get to the ruins
