We had a blast! Our group consisted of several people with different interests. Everyone had a good time! The guides were phenomenal and the food was amazing!

The whole trip was great. You have to drive over an hour on a super bumpy road but the views and stories about the people made it better. We had 2 guides and they were so much fun. It is slow season so us and 1 other couple had the whole pontoon to ourselves. The waterfalls are beautiful and it was fun standing and swimming in them. Water feels like spring water so just a bit cold but worth getting used to. The grilled chicken lunch was yummy and we ate it right at a waterfall. At the last waterfall we also had the chance to swim in the lake where the water was a perfect temp. We saw iguanas and a baby croc and the sound of the Howler monkeys echoed all around us. I would do this trip over and over again.

Our guides were Nadir and David. We were a couple that was on the boat with another couple (so six total). Our day was sunny with a light breeze off the lake. David is an avid birder and would point out all the different birds, including the ones we could only hear and not see. We heard howler monkeys, saw a juvenile crocodile (verified as a croc by the Floridians on the boat =) sunning itself on a rock, found a fresh water lobster claw, and enjoyed a lot other things in nature. The climb up to the waterfall just below the Rio Frio can be a little slippery and steep, so definitely wear water shoes.
When we went, it had not rained a lot, so we were told the falls were not flowing as much as what was possible, but they were all still enjoyable.
It was a slow-going day and we were well attended. There's a large cooler to store your beverages. The food we were offered (which is probably what everyone is offered) was grilled Italian sausage with BBQ sauce for dipping, grilled chicken leg quarter, canned baked beans, and a grilled tomato with onion "salsa" (for lack of a better description), served with corn tortillas (no utensils). We did not have napkins, so if that's what you need, then pack some with you ... i just washed my hands off in the water (that's also why there's tortillas).
We were staying up near Vaca Lake, so Nadir met us where we were staying and rode with us to the boat launch. If you are driving yourself, you absolutely need 4X4 vehicle for the hills/roads in that area, the conditions of which vary with the passing weather.
If you enjoy joking around and are light hearted, Nadir and David are the perfect crew for your experience!

We had fun in the tour also with our guide Nadir. Its good that we were joined with another couple and we had fun exploring the different falls. Food prepared and cooked by Nadir was great. He showed us wildlife animals like the iguana and baby croc. Despite the rain later that day we still had so much fun. It was one of a kind experience joining the eco tour.

We went on the pontoon boat and it was absolutely spectacular. The boat was so huge with a huge shaded lower deck and a huge upper deck I did yoga on. Robert, our guide, built it himself. We visited 3 waterfalls that were all absolutely gorgeous in their own way. We were given time to get out, explore, swim and play at each fall. We jumped off falls, jumped off the boat. Swung on a rope swing, fed the fish and relaxed a lot. Much needed at the end of our trip. Robert BBQ’ed us lunch on the boat and the food was delicious. We saw so much wildlife. Birds, fish, small crocodiles, iguanas and more. My favorite thing about this tour is we are never rushed and are given time to play and explore. I cannot recommend this enough. Worth every penny and more:)

Our family had a blast on this truly unique excursion. Our guide had a great sense of humor and really seemed to love what he does. We had so much fun with him. We went during the low season, so had a huge, hand made pontoon boat to ourselves, and there was nobody else on the river. we visited 3 waterfalls, each unique from the other, with the last near a cliff jumping spot and rope swing. The lunch which was cooked on the grill on the pontoon boat was delicious, and the Macal River is so beautiful. We heard howler monkeys and saw amazing bird and insect life. My family would 1,000 percent recommend this tour, especially to those who enjoy swimming.

We visited Belize in April of 2022. The waterfall tour was such a fun, relaxing day. Our guide, Jovanni, was patient, kind, and helpful. We got to sit in one waterfall, go under another, and see some from afar. The pontoon was super relaxing and the food was great as well. The rope swing was an unexpected added bonus and the whole day was great! I would definitely recommend this company and would do this tour again.

Este es un recorrido obligatorio. Ver las majestuosas cascadas, nadar en ellas, disfrutar del paseo en pontón, caminar para disfrutar de la naturaleza y nuestro guía Nadir nos cocinó delicioso en el pontón. Además fue muy agradable platicar con él, las explicaciones que nos daba de las formaciones de las cascadas y como son alimentadas de agua y muy atento y cuidadoso con los niños, siempre ayudando y protegiéndolos en todo momento. Fue un día increíble!

My husband and I loved this awesome tour, and Nadir was a great host! He picked us up from Mystic River Resort and drove us to the location. The views were absolutely majestic and the waterfalls were so incredible! You get really close to the waterfalls and can really feel the power of them! It was so fun cliff jumping and rope tree swinging. AND the food was also delicious! One hundred percent recommend this to everyone.

Beautiful view of the river and the jungle. The waterfalls are amazing. The BBQ on the boat was super delicious, the best food we have been offered by any tour guide during our stay in Belize. Nadir was super kind and funny.

The tour takes place on a river and large lake near San Ignacio. Amberguis Caye is a fare distance from there so you would need to make your way to San Ignacio to join the tour.
